UFC heavyweight Tai Tuivasa did something unexpected a couple of days ago. ‘Bam Bam‘ has never ceased to entertain the fans through his MMA bouts. However, this time the 30-year-old was up to something else as he didn’t have any fights currently booked. The Australian became the new delivery driver for Domino’s Pizza. And in that quest, he has started helping the multinational chain by delivering fresh pizzas to customers.
Despite being one of the most exciting heavyweights in the UFC, Tuivasa hasn’t been able to bag a fight since his last outing in December 2022. However, Tuivasa chose not to sit around waiting for his bout announcement. The Sydney-born traded in his fighting gear for a delivery uniform. Soon after, he hit the streets to bring piping hot pizzas to Australian customers.
Isn’t it mad that I’m not 100% sure it the #6 UFC heavyweight is shooting a promo for Dominos or if he actually has a job delivering pizza. https://t.co/XSmmvGYRce

It is worth mentioning that this isn’t the first time a UFC heavyweight, current or former, has taken to a regular 9-5 hustle. A few days ago, former UFC giant Greg Hardy took to Instagram to share about his newly found job at a Texas Walmart. But to fans’ surprise, he later declared it to be a troll job.
Fighter pay in the UFC has always remained a hot topic, especially amongst heavyweights. Earlier this year, former heavyweight king Francis Ngannou left the promotion citing several issues, fighter pay being one of them.
Is Tai Tuivasa working at Domino’s?
Tai Tuivasa has become one of the most exhilarating stars in the heavyweight division. But after riding a 5-fight win streak from 2020-2022, his momentum came to a decline. The 30-year-old has lost two consecutive bouts against Sergei Pavlovich and Ciryl Gane within a span of 4 months.
Thus, the new pizza-delivery gig didn’t come as a huge shock to the MMA community. Presumably taken by a fight fan, the viral photo of the giant happily delivering pizzas has been heavily making the rounds. But to relieve, or disappoint many MMA fans, ‘Bam Bam’ hasn’t actually taken on the role of a Domino’s pizza delivery boy.

The Australian took to Instagram to shed light on what was just a one-day gig. According to the sponsored post, Tuivasa starred in the famous franchise’s latest campaign. Titled, “Pizza Pasta Range,” the company had Tai travel around Western Sydney to deliver their latest range.
A one-off gig or not, the said campaign did bring a smile to many fans’ faces as the sight of a world-famous athlete delivering pizzas might not be seen for a long time to come.
Fans react to ‘Bam Bam’ delivering hot pizzas
The news of Tai Tuivasa was quick to garner the entire MMA world’s attention at once. Some fans took offense as to why an elite giant had to resort to such a hustle. While others seemed to exchange friendly banter with the new hire over at Domino’s. Here are some fan reactions on the matter –
Imagine challenging him if a slice was missing. 😅

These 2 faced each other just 2 years ago and look where they’re at now. And people have the audacity to say Dana White pays his fighters fairly pic.twitter.com/XOfpZnp6lO

It is unclear as to who the 30-year-old will face next in his upcoming UFC outing. However, the fan-favorite that Tuivasa is, the fight world will surely tune in no matter who’s standing in the cage across from him. What do you make of the now-viral moment? Do let us know in the comments down below.
