Ja Morant is suspended by the NBA for 8 games. This has come after a recent meeting with Adam Silver. Reports claim that the player opted to enter a counseling program right after his statement. The statement mentioned that he would be taking some time away to reflect on his actions and get some help. However, just days later, multiple sources have tweeted that Ja has left the program and is gearing up to make a return soon.

For those who don’t know, Ja flashed a gun during an Instagram live a few weeks ago. This was right after the game against the Denver Nuggets, which the Memphis Grizzlies lost. This didn’t sit too well with fans, who claimed that Ja was deliberately trying to ruin her career.
Ja Morant could return on March 20 against the Dallas Mavericks
NBA fans have been confused by the statement released by the league. It mentioned that Ja would be suspended for 8 games for actions that were “Detrimental to the league.” A point that should be noted is that these are not 8 games from now. Ja has already been on the sidelines for a significant amount of time and has missed 6 games for the Grizzlies. Hence, he would only miss two more games and make a return next Monday.

Fortunately for Morant, the NBA has announced that there was no proof that the firearm belonged to Ja. However, Adam Silver has blasted his behavior as “Irresponsible, reckless, and potentially very dangerous.” However, it is the fact that Ja took full responsibility for his actions that helped him return sooner than many expected.
Morant will be elated to return to action soon, and Grizzlies fans as well. Although they have done quite well in Morant and Brandon Clarke’s absence, the 23-year-old is a superstar any franchise would be more than happy to have. He’s already the face of the franchise and the owners are building around Ja to fight for the title.
They are one of the strongest teams in the league and will make the playoffs this year as well. Ja’s return will come at a good time and the Grizzlies can get in a good prep for the postseason with their best player back on the roster.
