UFC 295 is now in the books, as the epic PPV was closed with a match between Jiri Prochazka and Alex Pereira for the vacant Light Heavyweight Championship. However, this epic fight was marred by a somewhat controversial stoppage. In the second round, when Jiri was charging towards ‘Poatan’ with a flurry of strikes, he got countered by a two-punch combo. Furthermore, it looked like Jiri was out, but he initiated a takedown.
‘Poatan’ decided to land some elbows on Jiri, after which he got him into full mount. However, referee Marc Goddard stopped the fight just before Pereira could land something on his fallen foe. Furthermore, Prochazka immediately got up after the match was over, making the fans believe that it was a premature finish.
“In the end, I think it was right. I was out.”

While the MMA fans were furious at Marc Goddard, the Czech fighter had a totally different take on the situation. ‘BJP’ is a true martial artist and a practitioner of bushido principles, and he used his platform to remove the controversy from Pereira’s achievement. “In the end, I think it was right. I was out,” said Prochazka.
Jiri Prochazka told Joe Rogan that he was already out with the left hook, so he is not really upset with the call made by Marc Goddard. This was a great show of sportsmanship from Prochazka, which solidified him as a true samurai.
Max Holloway calls Jiri Prochazka a true warrior
While fans all around the world are praising Jiri Prochazka for his professional behavior after the fight, one of the biggest UFC superstars has also shown his respect for him. Former UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway took to social media to show his appreciation for ‘The Czech Samurai’.
“Jiri is a special dude. Most guys wouldn’t say what he just said. Respect warrior,” wrote Max via X. Jiri Prochazka was returning from a terrible shoulder injury, and his fans were expecting him to reclaim his throne in the light heavyweight division. Initially, he had a lot of trouble with the leg kicks of ‘Poatan’ but he quickly made adjustments and took him down to the ground.

Furthermore, Jiri was looking good on the feet with his unorthodox movements as he landed some good uppercuts. He even had Pereira in trouble during the second round with a flurry of punches. However, when he tried to corner Pereira again, he got caught with a vicious combo by ‘Poatan’.
In conclusion, while Jiri lost the fight, he has not only earned the respect of Max Holloway but all the MMA fans around the world. Hopefully, ‘The Czech Samurai’ will come back stronger from this setback.
