WWE legend John Cena has been one of the most charismatic figures to have forayed from wrestling to the silver screen. After spending more than 20 years performing in the squared circle, Cena has been able to make it big in Hollywood, with his latest project, Fast X, set to hit theaters on May 19 (in the USA).

Despite winning 16 world titles, The Cenation Leader is hungry as ever in the ring. He recently competed for the United States Title at WrestleMania 39 but failed to emerge victorious against Austin Theory in what has been described by fans as an underwhelming bout. This has led many fans to believe that the legend may soon decide to hang up his boots after putting his body on the line for several years.

During a recent interview with Today to promote Fast X, Cena was asked about potential injuries during filming. In a fighting scene, the Cenation Leader could be seen getting punched. When asked whether the fight scenes led to any injuries, John Cena stated that it was much safer than WWE.

“Oh! It is so much safer than WWE,” Cena said, leading to a shocked reaction from the hosts.

When asked whether he got real injuries in WWE, Cena replied with a “yes.” He then added that being a wrestler was also safe and “much more fun.” Cena then went on to talk about how it took him 10 years of baby steps to get to where he is now in terms of his Hollywood career and that he was trying to be “brave enough” to “try newer things.”

Being motivated can be the fuel to achieve great things. Do not be afraid to explore the roots of that drive as finding out “why” might unlock things even greater.

Cena will reprise his role as Jakob Toretto in the latest offering from the Fast and Furious franchise. The film will probably see John Cena share screen space with Dwayne Johnson for the first time since their epic WrestleMania 29 clash. Johnson, who decided to quit the franchise, has reportedly returned during Fast X.

When did John Cena marry Shay Shariatzadeh?

Apart from making a career change, John Cena has also moved on in his personal life. Following a tumultuous relationship with fellow WWE star Nikki Bella, the 16-time world champion has finally settled down with Shay Shariatzadeh.

The two started dating in early 2019, a while after Cena called off his marriage to Bella in April 2018. Shariatzadeh married the WWE legend in a private ceremony in Florida on October 12, 2020. The couple met in 2019 during the production of Cena’s film Playing With Fire. The couple was recently spotted in London on a shopping spree.

Has John Cena changed his mind about having kids with Shay Shariatzadeh?

It was widely reported that the main reason Cena and Bella broke up was their differences over having kids. The WWE legend was seemingly adamant about not having kids, but Bella wanted something different.

However, in a 2021 interview with The Sun, Cena revealed that he was now open to having children. He addressed the fact that since he was older, he was also wider and accepted that life can be beautiful. He is seemingly more open to the idea now.

“I’m a little bit older, a bit wiser. I’m realising there is life and life exists and it’s beautiful — and I think part of that is being a parent, so we’ll see,” said John Cena.

It remains to be seen whether Cena will eventually become a father and whether his life will also change following his marriage. As far as his WWE future is concerned, it is more or less a given that John Cena won’t be returning to the ring anytime soon.
