With Jorge Masvidal being out of the UFC circuit there only have been rare glimpses of him connected to the promotion. But at the recently concluded Power Slap 6 event, he was seen enjoying the event with Sean Strickland. Soon enough videos of Jorge Masvidal on streamer Vitaly’s livestream started circulating online. These videos and stills of Masvidal garnered funny fan reactions.
Fans react with hilarious comments on Jorge Masvidal putting on weight
Jorge Masvidal faced the wrath of the netizens on X (fka Twitter). The fighter hasn’t fought professionally since his retirement in April 2023. This is evident in the way Masvidal has been carrying himself in the past few months. Needless to say, the former BMF champion of the UFC has put on considerable weight. Under an X post of the 39-year-old on Vitaly’s livestream, fans let their opinions be heard.
One fan commented, “Jorge GameFed MasvidEatItAll” taking a shot at his nickname. Many fans followed suit, with comments like “Garlicbread”, “Gamebred❌ Game fed ✅” and “bro ate too much bred”. Even former heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier caught a stray. When a fan said, “Bro coming for DC’s championship buffet belt.”
Under another still of Masvidal from the same video, one fan refused to believe the picture was real. The fan expressed, “nah this pic had to been stretched”. Another fan commented, “Looks more like 12 piece and XL soda. WTF happened, isnt he suppose to make a comeback?”. This was a reference to the famous ‘3piecese with a soda’ quote from Masvidal.
There was one fan who commented on Masvidal’s similar appearance to that of Jesus, saying, “Jesus eating good.” Fans had a field day on X reacting to Jorge Masvidal’s ‘blow-up’. It seems unthinkable for Jorge Masvidal to involve himself in athletic activities in 2024. But that might not be true, as he is rumored to go up against another ex-UFC fighter in an exhibition boxing match.
What is Jorge ‘Gamebred’ Masvidal doing now?
After retiring from the UFC, Jorge Masvidal has managed to stay in the public eye quite well. Apart from the UFC, he has also been involved with another fighting promotion for a long time now. That being his own Gamebred Fighting Championship, which is a Bare Knuckle MMA promotion.
This one-of-a-kind organization was announced in April 2021 by none other than the self-proclaimed ‘King of Miami’, aka Jorge Masvidal. On June 18, 2021, Gamebred FC held its inaugural promotional pay-per-view event in Biloxi, Mississippi.
Masvidal introduced another MMA promotion by the name of iKON FC. This promotion featured ex-UFC fighters and up-and-coming fighters as well. One such up-and-coming fighter who featured in the promotion was Bo Nickal, who is now perhaps the most intriguing UFC prospect. The promotion aired its inaugural event on UFC Fight Pass on January 21, 2022.
Apart from these two promotions, there have been rumors linking a possible boxing match between Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz. This would be a rematch of their clash for the BMF title back in the day. But in a totally different setting. While Masvidal has not boxed before, Nate is coming off a loss against influencer Jake Paul. Fans would definitely love to see the two legends back in action.
