It has been over eight months since Khamzat Chimaev graced the Octagon. The 29-year-old Russian-born Swede last fought Kevin Holland in what was a flawless performance, much like his previous UFC fights. But, not having a fight booked since then has seemed to annoy his fanbase, and why wouldn’t it? ‘Borz‘ comes out to fight with fury every time and has maintained his undefeated record of 6-0 in the promotion so far.
However, Chimaev appears to be raging at present, considering his current standing in terms of a fight. UFC president Dana White has previously gone on to claim that Khamzat has been dealing with “personal stuff.” But Chimaev has openly denied these claims and has been ready to fight for months. In fact, ‘Borz’ has even called out Alex Pereira and Israel Adesanya for a showdown.

It’s confusing to see the undefeated star calling our former and current middleweight champ without anything ever materializing. Based on the clips he regularly drops on social media of him rag-dolling his teammates, Khamzat certainly looks ready to fight. He even had a back-and-forth with former welterweight kingpin Kamaru Usman. Unfortunately, nothing ever came off that as well.

Recently, Chimaev unfollowed the higher-ups of the promotion on Twitter, out of rage, or so it appears. A Twitter user named ‘RainManMMA’ pointed out the fact that Khamzat is no longer following the UFC president Dana White. Aside from him, ‘Borz’ has stopped following the company matchmakers Sean Shelby and Mick Maynard as well.
And if that wasn’t enough, he has even unfollowed his close buddy and the second half of ‘Smesh Bros,’ Darren Till.
It is worth mentioning that Khamzat is still following all three of the UFC officials on Instagram, while Darren’s account still remains deleted on the platform. The only people that the Swede is currently following on Twitter as of now are Tam Khan, Andrew Tate, UFC, and ESPN MMA.
Fans react to Khamzat Chimaev unfollowing Dana White and Darren Till
Khamzat Chimaev has now caused a stir in the MMA community by unfollowing the people who are revered by his peers. Fans speculate it might be out of rage since the 29-year-old hasn’t been able to successfully bag a fight. Moreover, ‘Borz’ holds one of the fastest turnaround times between two fights in the UFC at 10 days. It is clear that Khamzat itches to get back into the cage as soon as he’s done with the fight at hand.
It would appear that Chimaev’s decision could be due to a desired fight with Usman never materializing. On the other hand, one could make a case that the Russian native might have wanted to erase all sorts of distractions around him. Whatever the case may be, he was sure to continue following Andrew Tate and his close associate, Tam Khan.

He realized he can make more money scamming with the Tate than fighting his ass off for a 50k bonus 😅

While the news is certainly eyebrow-raising, we wouldn’t know the real motive behind his recent move until Chimaev comes out to clear the air. In terms of weight, the Chechnyan has previously fought at welterweight, middleweight, and a catchweight of 180 lbs. Thus, weight doesn’t seem to be an issue as well for Khamzat, except for his huge mishap at UFC 279.
