NBA fans have witnessed extraordinary feats in the 2022-23 NBA season. There has been more than one instance where it seemed that the NBA may well and truly be scripted. Although it does sound ridiculous and exaggerated, some events have been enough for fans. An example would be the 8th seed Miami Heat knocking out the 1st seed Milwaukee Bucks in round 1.

That is only the most recent incident that has raised eyebrows. That’s not all, however. Recently, a post about the NBA’s ‘Script’ has taken over the internet. It has led fans to wonder if that is really the way that the Association wants the finals to go this year.
According to the document, the Los Angeles Lakers are expected to beat the Denver Nuggets in Game 6, proceeding to the NBA Finals. As for the Eastern Conference Finals, the Boston Celtics are reportedly set to make it to the final two for the second year in a row. However, they will come short once again, as LeBron James bags a Finals MVP award after leading the Lakers to an 18th NBA championship.
Is the 2023 NBA Playoffs script real?
That’s not the only interesting detail. The document mentions that Jimmy Butler will score 36 points against the Celtics in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals. Interestingly, the Heat superstar was just one point shy of the number, making 35 points on the night. This will make fans wonder if the script could actually be accurate, considering how close it was to predicting the actual number.
The NBA world would be wondering if the script is real, but there is a minor detail that could give everything away. At the top of the page, the date of the NBA Finals is mentioned as ‘July 18.’ But in reality, the finals are set to be held on June 18, a month before the date mentioned in the alleged script. That’s not all, however.
The ‘script’ mentions that the Celtics will defeat the Heat in Game 7, on June 18. If the series until that stage, a decider will be played on May 30. Again, the dates are enough to give it away. This could be one of the reasons why it could be fake.
There is no way NBA games could be scripted. This is not the WWE.

You really think if it was rigged they would make an actual script🤣🤣🤡

NBA fans were quick to react to the script as well. A user took a dig at WWE, claiming that the NBA is not similar. Another Twitter user also pointed out that if the games were scripted, there actually wouldn’t be a script. Whatever the case, it looks like this is another attempt to gain some clicks on social media. There is no definite answer to the question, but it is no secret that fans have brought up the question quite often in recent years.
