Logan Paul made his name on virtual platforms like Vine and YouTube and became a huge celebrity. However, after the backlash over his Japan suicide forest vlog, Logan took a backstep from his YouTube channel and reinvented himself as a boxer. He took on his former foe and current business partner KSI in a boxing event. Since then he has even faced the legendary Floyd Mayweather in an exhibition.
But, Logan’s best performances came in the wrestling ring instead of the boxing ring. Since his first appearance on April 2, 2021, Logan has become a huge fan favorite in the WWE universe. The company was so impressed with his athletic performances that they even booked him against the “Tribal Chief” Roman Reigns.
Even his showing in the Royal Rumble was beyond impressive. His stunt of clashing with Ricochet midair while both jumped from the opposite side of the ring was unlike anything fans had seen before However, ahead of WrestleMania 39, his WWE future seems to be in doubt.
Logan Paul gives an important update regarding his WWE future
Logan Paul is set to take on former WWE champ Seth Rollins on night 1 of Wrestlemania 39. Judging by fan reactions to the build-up, fans are over the moon about the prospect of seeing Logan taking on a technician like Rollins. But, in an interview with Ariel Helwani for BT Sports, Logan shared a very interesting story about his future in the WWE.
According to Logan, after his WrestleMania 38 match, both WWE and Logan Paul wanted to continue their working relationship. However, at the time, Paul apparently signed a contract that is set to expire on April 1, 2023. Coincidentally, it is also the day when he is set to take on Seth Rollins. So the question immediately becomes, is Logan Paul extending his contract with the WWE?
Speaking about his contract situation, Paul said, “I don’t know, my contract ends… on April 1st.” He continued, “I was contracted for a year to do two WrestleManias and five events.” Talking about whether he will walk away or not, Logan said, “I feel like it’s unlikely (that I will leave). I’m a good employee.” He also revealed that there were talks of contract renewal backstage.
“It’s (contract renewal) been brought up, but I don’t have it… of course, yeah (I would like to continue,” revealed The Maverick. However, Logan also expressed that he wants to sign a yearly contract instead of a long-term one. As a reason, Logan revealed that he wants to keep his options open and assess his position at the end of every contract.
Although his contract may be up in the air, that will not stop Logan Paul from giving it his all on April 1. He added that WWE will allow him to have a new walkout song and entrance for WrestleMania 39. And, if Logan is to be believed, his match against Seth Rollins is going to be “iconic.”
So what do you think of the situation? Do you think Logan Paul will re-sign with the WWE? As per reports, Paul used to earn $5 million per year in his previous contract. Will he get a pay bump in his potential new contract? Let us know in the comments down below.
