On Raw after WrestleMania 39, Cody Rhodes got decimated by Brock Lesnar following a humiliating Mania loss against Roman Reigns the night before. The assault by Lesnar ignited a feud between him and Cody. But he still has not clarified why he dismantled Rhodes. Moreover, the attack eventually led to the official announcement of Brock Lesnar vs. Cody Rhodes at the Backlash PLE.
While the match was set to happen, Cody Rhodes described the match as a must-win. He believed he must overcome every hurdle, including The Beast Incarnate, in order to finish his story. In the main event of Backlash, The American Nightmare managed to emerge victorious against a bloodied and battered Brock Lesnar.
However, many still argue that Cody did not get a convincing win, as he pinned Brock while in the Kimura lock submission hold. Overall, it was a decent match with a believable finish as well. While many think Rhodes has crossed the hurdle which was The Beast, the feud is reportedly far from over.
According to a recent report by WRKDWrestling, even after Cody’s win at Backlash, his feud with Lesnar will continue this week on Raw. This Monday on Raw, The American Nightmare is scheduled to compete in one of the triple-threat matches in the first round of the World Heavyweight Championship tournament.

The report suggests that Brock is expected to interfere and screw Cody out of the tournament. Furthermore, Lesnar confronting Rhodes on Raw will be the official continuation of their feud. After that, their feud is expected to go on for at least a month or more.
Brock Lesnar vs. Cody Rhodes rematch could take place at the Night of Champions PLE
If the report is to be believed, the angle between The Beast Incarnate and The American Nightmare would eventually lead to another Brock Lesnar vs. Cody Rhodes bout on the next PLE. However, their match at Night of Champions will reportedly have an added stipulation as well.

Lesnar is officially a free agent in the WWE after the draft announcement. He is also not one of the 12 superstars announced for the World Heavyweight Championship tournament. As a matter of fact, Brock is currently not involved in anything other than the feud with Cody.
Therefore, The Beast Incarnate could be more relentless in his path of redemption against Cody after a loss at Backlash. Furthermore, the damage inflicted on Rhodes could be a part of the hard times he must overcome to finish the story and become the WWE champion.
