EA Sports is a section of Electronic Arts that develops and publishes sports video games. Founded in 1991, the real-life game simulator has gone on to capture the market for all the major sports ranging from cricket, football, and NBA to NHL. Previously, EA Sports used to make available free demos before they released the actual game. But since 2K22 this considerate practice has stopped.
EA Sports releasing a free demo a few weeks before the actual game was a winning move for both the company and the users. Gamers could have a trial version where they could check different play modes and inform the company of any bugs or changes that needed to be accommodated. It was like a test drive before buying the actual car.

NBA 2K24 is scheduled to hit markets on September 8, 2023. Let us have a look at why the million-dollar company stopped releasing free demos.
When was the last NBA demo?
Many fans were expecting NBA 2K24 to have a free demo but were taken aback when the company decided not to release one. The Kobe Bryant on-cover edition reignited memories of the 2K21 edition which also had the Los Angeles Lakers legend on its casing.
This also led many fans to speculate a free demo similar to what had been released for 2K21. However, the company had other plans. Speaking about the same during the 2K22 release, the company in its official statement had informed that they were aiming to “concentrate on delivering fully-functional games” for the two generations of platforms.
The demo known as “The Prelude” had a quick match and MyPLAYER builder. But does the NBA need a demo? The demo has to have 2 basic advantages:-
Firstly, it helps the user to test the game and convey feedback to the developers who can make adjustments and changes to the game if needed. Secondly, it acts as an attention bait by hooking the users to the game who can then invest in buying the game and increasing the sales.
So, if not the demo, how will 2K24 be? The NBA 2K24 will be released in three editions namely- the Kobe Bryant Edition, the Black Mamba Edition, and the 25th Anniversary Edition. Gamers could wait before flocking to stores to check out gameplay videos and get a hang of the features. Overall, the NBA 2K24 is expected to be a hit without the demo version too.
