One of the greatest moments in the NBA finals was in 2016 when LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers came back from 3-1 down to win 4-3 against Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors. Something Klay Thompson regrets when he decided to taunt the King.
LeBron and the Cavs were down after 4 games in the series and the Warriors were in a commanding 3-1 lead, things looked bleak after the loss in game 4 for the Cavaliers. Thompson and the reigning champions were already feeling like a winner. Klay didn’t waste any time taking a subtle dig at LeBron after the game in the post-match interview.
Klay went and said, “I don’t know how the man feels. But obviously, people have feelings, and people’s feelings get hurt even if they’re called a bad word. I guess his feelings just got hurt.”
King James however, didn’t take the comments from Thompson lightly and came out with a huge answer, something the NBA and its fans were about to witness for the very first time.
What was LeBron James’ score after Klay Thompson’s insult?
Before the interview, the 4x MVP and Klay Thompson scored the same amounts of points, with 25 at the end of the game in the Quicken Loans Arena, Cleveland. The next game was to be held at the Oracle Arena, the Golden State Warrior’s home. LeBron James in the match was out for vengeance against the Warriors after what was a humiliating game 4 loss at home.
The 4x league MVP showed up at the Oracle and put up a monster performance in game 5 against the reigning defending NBA champions with 41 points, 7 assists, and 3 blocks. The Cleveland Cavaliers were up 2-3 against the Warriors with 2 games to go, eventually putting the series to bed, and the King delivered on his promise to his hometown.

The King once again put up a 41-point performance in game 6, leading the Cavs to game 7 where the NBA Champion would be decided, Draymond Green who was the best player on the court for the Warriors put up a 32 points performance was not enough for the Warriors to win the title at home, as for Klay he could only muster up with 14 points on the night.
James however, had a 27 points performance but that was not the highlight of the night. The Block on Andre Iguodala shocked everyone in the crowd, which could have been a turning point in the game. Eventually, the Cavaliers won the series and LeBron was able to bring home the NBA championship to his hometown after 40 years.
