Kyrie Irving was the talk of the town last summer. The NBA world expected him to leave the Brooklyn Nets, and sign for the Los Angeles Lakers. It was one of the rumors that only seemed like a matter of time. However, Irving ended up staying and even re-signed with the Nets franchise. His time in New York was swamped with controversies, as Kyrie was even suspended after promoting a movie that contained anti-Semitic views.
Ultimately, Kyrie chose to work with the Nets franchise and even helped them to a solid start to the 2022-23 NBA season. Kevin Durant also played a pivotal role in this after the hiring of Jacque Vaughn. Ultimately, Kyrie chose to leave, which was surprising for many. This might have possibly opened the door for KD as well, who left to join the Phoenix Suns in a short time.

Before he was traded to the Mavs, rumors filled the scene, mentioning that a reunion with LeBron James might be on the cards for Kyrie. However, it all died down when the Nets traded him and Markieff Morris and sent Dorian Finney-Smith, Spencer Dinwiddie, and a couple of draft picks the other way. As the offseason approaches, the rumors of Kyrie joining King James have taken heat once again.
Will Kyrie Irving reunite with LeBron James for one last dance?
Kyrie and LeBron were a formidable duo when they played for the Cleveland Cavaliers. Irving was just a rookie, but he complemented James’ play style like no one had ever seen before. This was one of the reasons why they were able to win the NBA championship in 2016. They beat the mighty Golden State Warriors in the finals, the team that boasted a record of 73-9 that year.
The Cavs, led by LeBron and Kyrie, came back from a 3-1 deficit to snatch the title from Stephen Curry and Co. in dramatic fashion. That cemented their status as the greatest players on the planet at the time.
This was one of the reasons why the Lakers were expected to sign Irving in the last few months. The deal was so close to happening that LeBron even addressed it in an interview. He mentioned that he was disappointed about missing out on Kyrie, but the focus was on the Lakers. With that said, will Kyrie be moving in the offseason this year?

The Dallas Mavericks have reportedly held their ground on the Kyrie situation. Sources claim that they are not interested in helping Kyrie in a sign-and-trade scenario. This certainly means that they are interested in keeping the former NBA champ. It sure looks like LeBron might have missed out on joining hands with his former teammate for the second time.
