The Dallas Mavericks acquired Kyrie Irving to strengthen their roster this season. It has not all worked out in their favor until now, as the Mavs lost both of the games that Luka Doncic and Kyrie started in. This makes the NBA world wonder if the pair will complement each other’s play styles on the court. Both of them are quite similar to each other, in terms of making plays, passing, and how they carry the ball the most. With that said, reports recently emerged mentioning that a superstar from the Los Angeles Lakers could arrive in Texas; Anthony Davis.
“I talked to an NBA source who I’ve known for a long time, he said the Dallas Mavericks and Anthony Davis, keep your eye on it…Anthony Davis is pouting, LeBron’s holding him accountable, LeBron’s not happy with him.”

Recently, Colin Cowherd mentioned that AD was unhappy with the Lakers, and LeBron James. Davis’ reaction when King James became the All-Time leading scorer could have contributed to this statement as well. However, NBA insider Brian Windhorst has also addressed these rumors, with a few of his own claims.
Will Anthony Davis leave the Los Angeles Lakers?
Windhorst said on the Dan Patrick Show, “While I admit there might be something amiss there, I don’t think Anthony Davis wants to not be a Laker. My understanding is he still is 100 percent bought in on that.”
Davis joined the 17x NBA champs back in 2019. In his first season in LA, AD averaged 26.1 points, 9.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists. It certainly was not bad for his first year as a Laker. If that was not enough, Davis led the side to an NBA championship alongside LeBron James. The NBA world expected him to have a bright career in California, until injuries came along.
Similar to his situation with the New Orleans Pelicans, Davis has not been able to stay injury-free for a long time. One must admit that this has led to his downfall as a player ultimately. With that said, his future with the Lakers remains a huge question mark. This could be concluded from how Brian says “something might be amiss,” which indicates there might be something happening behind the scenes. Only time will tell if Davis stays with LeBron and other newcomers or joins hands with Kyrie and Luka in Dallas.
