Windham Rotunda, popularly known as Bray Wyatt due to his iconic WWE career, passed away nearly a month ago. Despite him no longer being in this world, Wyatt still remains a prominent figure in discussions within the industry, and due to the legacy he created, it’ll probably continue for years to come.
In a similar incident, a pro wrestling legend opened up about WWE’s future plans for the former Universal Champion. It was none other than Hall of Famer Ted DiBiase who talked about the potential storyline plans the promotion had for the former leader of The Wyatt Family.
This happened on a recent edition of Ted’s podcast “Everybody’s Got A Pod,” as the 69-year-old revealed that he attended Bray‘s funeral in Tampa. While doing so, DiBiase started talking about the future plans WWE had for the late star and revealed something interesting.
Sharing information about the plans about Bray’s future in the Triple H-led promotion, the retired pro wrestler said, “Windham was a great kid, he really was. They were just getting ready to go back, they were supposed to start again in September and start up something new. Now he’s gone.” (Via: Wrestling Inc)
Alongside disclosing the potential plans WWE had for Windham, Ted also revealed that he met Bray’s father, Mike Rotunda, at the ceremony to pay his condolences. The veteran shared that Shane McMahon was also among the attendees at The Fiend’s funeral, after the iconic star’s unexpected passing.
Bray Wyatt was expected to make an in-ring return
Even though Bray Wyatt had remained away from WWE television ever since his appearance on SmackDown’s February 24, 2023, episode, he was expected to make an in-ring return. Even during the build-up to SummerSlam 2023, Bray was rumored to make his long-awaited return.
At that time, it was speculated that Wyatt could probably return to the Triple H-led promotion at The Biggest Party of the Summer, as there were cryptic signs pointing towards his comeback. But nothing like that happened during the August 5 event in Detroit.

As Windham wasn’t seen making an appearance at the Ford Field Stadium show, people thought that WWE may have saved it for a later stage. But just weeks after the mega event was held, it was announced that he passed away.
The news of The Wyatt Family Leader’s death was an absolute shocker, and it has left the industry with wounds that could never be cured. Even though, Bray is no longer among all of us, he’ll always be counted among the most creative guys in the Stamford-based promotion.
