After the most successful WrestleMania of all time from a business standpoint, it was time for WWE to follow up on such a massive achievement. The next WWE PLE, Backlash had huge expectations as well. The main reason for that is the stacked match card with great potential. Meanwhile, the event took place in San Juan, Puerto Rico with a celebrity attraction. Furthermore, fans saw a surprise return of Carlito as well.

Talking about the entire show, it’s fair to say that almost every match on the Backlash card absolutely delivered. The kickoff match between Bianca Belair and Iyo Sky was an amazing match as expected. Following that, Seth Rollins also brought out the best in Omos in their match. Moreover, the show also featured Zelina Vega making her emotional entrance in front of her home-country crowd.
Furthermore, the show was set to feature double main events as well. A double main-event show means there were two center-attraction matches at Backlash. One of the main events that actually closed the show was Brock Lesnar vs. Cody Rhodes. Nonetheless, another headlining showdown that fans, especially in Puerto Rico were looking forward to was the street fight between Puerto Rico’s own, Bad Bunny, and Damian Priest.
Well, it can’t be denied that the street fight absolutely stole the show. In fact, it exceeded the expectations fans had of such a match. As expected, the bout was eventful, featuring weapons, unique spots, and interference from The Judgment Day and LWO. However, the moment that really blew the roof off was the return of Carlito. The Cool guy received a massive reaction from the Puerto Rican crowd.

After making his way to the ring with fired-up crowd reactions, Carlito also played a vital role in the conclusion of the match. As he was wearing the LWO shirt, it was pretty clear that he came to the aid of Bad Bunny. Carlito took out the members of The Judgment Day with his famous move, Backstabber. He also performed the iconic “spitting the apple” on the face of Dominik Mysterio.
Following the chaos and surprises, Bad Bunny managed to defeat Damian Priest in probably his best in-ring performance. While the fans in attendance enjoyed the experience of Carlito’s return, fans on Twitter were also exhilarated. Here are some of the best fan reactions:

Overall, it was a great experience to see Carlito make a surprise appearance with the LWO shirt. However, it’s still not confirmed whether he has signed a new contract with the WWE or if it was just a one-off appearance. Hence, it remains to be seen if fans will see more of Carlito in the future.
