The WWE Undisputed Universal Champion Roman Reigns was not booked for Backlash. The other members of The Bloodline however were in action in a six-man tag team match. However, The Tribal Chief won’t be appearing in the PLE in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
The major reason he’s not been booked for Backlash is that he’ll be appearing at bigger premium live events during the summer and spring. According to the earlier reports, the Head of the Table was scheduled to make his appearance at Money in the Bank, which will take place in the 02 Arena in London, England.

However, he’s also being advertised for The Night of Champions. At The Night of Champions, he’ll complete 1000 days as the WWE Undisputed Universal Champion. The Premium Live Event will take place on May 27, 2023, at the Jeddah Super Dome in Saudi Arabia.
Another major event of the summer, Reigns is also in advertisements for the SummerSlam, which is going to take place in Detroit. However, his opponents for all the events are still unknown, and following his schedule, his appearances on the shows have been highly limited.
Is The Bloodline falling apart due to the absence of Roman Reigns?
The Usos and Solo Sikoa brawled against the WWE Undisputed Tag Team Champions, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn alongside Matt Riddle, and came out victorious.
Reigns was not booked for Backlash. However, many fans did hope he would make an appearance at the event during the fight of The Bloodline.

Things started falling apart for The Bloodline after The Usos lost their prestigious Tag Titles against Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens at WrestleMania 39 Night 1. However, Reigns also came really close to dropping his title at the Grandest Stage of All, where Solo Sikoa came to his rescue.
Even during the match for the tag-team title at Backlash, it was evident that everything was not going well with The Bloodline. There were multiple heated moments between Solo Sikoa and Jey Uso. Solo even attempted to deliver the Samoan Spike to his brother. However, they managed to grab the victory, but it’ll be interesting to see how things turn out in the future after the return of The Tribal Chief.
