Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns has been on an unstoppable run since winning the title at Payback 2020. The Tribal Chief has not been pinned or submitted in a long time and is nearing 1000 days as the Universal Champion. As Night of Champions approaches, WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle believes Reigns might suffer a rare defeat on May 27 when he and Solo Sikoa faces Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn for the tag team titles.
During an episode of his The Kurt Angle Show podcast (via Wrestling INC.), the Olympic gold medalist was of the opinion that Roman Reigns may not win. He chose Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens to go over during their Undisputed Tag Team Championship defense because The Tribal Chief is already holding two world titles.

“I haven’t had very much luck going against Roman Reigns, but you know what? I’m going to go with Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn [as the winners]. They’re going to go over strictly because Roman Reigns already is holding two world titles,” Angle said. “Now, I could be wrong. They might end up putting all the freaking titles on Roman Reigns, maybe even the new World [Heavyweight Championship],” added Angle.
Since WrestleMania, Reigns has been miffed with The Usos as they lost the Undisputed Tag Team Titles. His anger reached boiling points as Jimmy and Jey Uso even lost a title rematch after dedicating it to their Tribal Chief. With Night of Champions on the horizon, Reigns took it upon himself to bring back the Undisputed Tag Team Championship along with Solo Sikoa.
Roman Reigns could also have his eyes set on the new World Heavyweight Championship
The tag team titles will not be the only titles to be defended at WWE Night of Champions as Seth Rollins and AJ Styles will also be in action to be crowned the new World Heavyweight Champion, a title which was introduced by Triple H exclusively for RAW.

However, despite its exclusivity to the red brand, Roman Reigns has made his intentions clear to go for the title. Although he has not directly challenged either Seth Rollins or AJ Styles, Roman has made it clear that he may have the title around his waist in the near future. Roman Reigns’ wise man, Paul Heyman, has also made it clear during several promos.
In a shocking turn of events, Reigns could come out to confront the winner of the Seth Rollins-AJ Styles bout and challenge them to a ‘Winner Take All match’ somewhere down the line. With The Tribal Chief hungry for more success in WWE and looking to dominate the roster, nothing is out of the realm of possibility. It remains to be seen how things will turn out at the Jeddah Superdome in Saudi Arabia on May 27.
