Whilst most fans were occupied by the events of UFC Charlotte, few were aware of the happenings of “All In Combat”. Created by UFC’s own, Brendan “All In” Allen, the promotion seeks to bring about young talent fighters and give them a stage to prove themselves.

One of the most notable fighters on the night happened to be 21-year-old Myra Hill. For those unaware, Myra is the daughter of NBA legend Grant Hill. Having made her debut at 19 years old, the up-and-coming MMA fighter has already made waves in the amateur MMA scene. However, her recent victory at All In Combat 2 might have put a lot more people on notice.

Taking to Twitter, renowned MMA journalist Ariel Helwani had high praise for the young fighter. “Myla Hil, daughter of basketball legend @realgranthill33, wins another MMA fight. This time she looks like Jon Jones circa UFC 140. Damn.” Notably, Helwani has been following Hill’s progress very keenly and was the first to bring attention to her amateur MMA debut win as well.

Interestingly, Helwani compares Myla to a young Jon Jones that submitted Lyoto Machida at UFC 140. However, what sparked the comparison was the similarity in both fighters’ standing guillotine choke finish. Whilst Jones has gone on to become a two-divisional champion in the UFC since then, it will be interesting to see which direction Hill’s career goes from here.

Myla Hill: MMA debut and career record

Taking place at the Castine Center in Mandeville, LA, Hill won her latest MMA bout by way of a standing guillotine in the very first round. On the night, Myla fought Jakeya “The Magic Potion” Keglar, for her third MMA bout where she scored her third submission win.

Previously, Myla made her debut at Rival Fight League 22 on October 29, 2021, in Lakeland, Florida. On that occasion, the debutant fought Jenna Loza. As for the fight itself, Myla showed great skill in setting up her submission finish. Following a flurry of punches, Hill pummeled her opponent with ground and pound before locking in a rear-naked choke to finish the fight.

Following a canceled bout against Dariela Colon in September 2022, Hill took on Faith Sanders WCFL 33: 10 Year Anniversary. In what was her toughest fight to date, the bout went to the third round where Hill was able to capitalize and lock in a guillotine choke to win the fight.

Thus, the daughter of NBA legend Grant Hill and his wife Tamia Hill, is now 3-0 in her MMA career. Currently, Hill is affiliated with the 6 Levels MMA Center (a subsidiary of the Gracie jiu-jitsu) in Florida. Moreover, she is also a BJJ Purple Belt and teaches classes to younger fighters as well. As such, if all goes well, maybe Hill could find herself in the UFC someday.
