Jalin Turner shocked the world with a gruesome KO of Bobby Green in the co-main event of UFC Austin. However, a late stoppage from referee Kerry Hatley has taken the focus of that impressive victory. Furthermore, Michael Bisping went on to call out the bad decision made by Hatley.
“That was disgusting, he was face down, and he was getting teed off on by a world-class very powerful striker,” said Bisping. Jalin Turner knocked Green out with a two-punch combo and followed it up with some barbaric ground and pound. However, referee Kerry Hatley kept looking at the beatdown while Bisping screamed, “That’s it, ref,” multiple times.

While Bisping called Hatley a great referee, he went on to question the reason for the late stoppage. Furthermore, a stoppage like this can shorten a fighter’s career. “People’s lives are at stake, their long-term health is at stake,” said the UFC legend. He went on to call this stoppage disgusting and disgraceful for the sport.
However, this is not the only time Mr. Hatley has made a bad call in the world of MMA. At UFC Vegas 73, Joaquin Buckley dropped Andre Fialho with a vicious head kick. However, Hatley hesitated to stop the fight, leading to an extra blow from Buckley to Fialho.
Not the first time Kerry Hatley has made a bad call.
Of course, it’s Texas so nothing will happen.
But that was absolutely awful. What in the world.
Glad to see Green get up. So unnecessary.

Furthermore, back in 2014 at UFC Fight Night 44, he made a super early stoppage of Johnny Bedford in just 38 seconds. According to Johnny, he was winning the fight but got caught with a right hand from Cody Gibson. Furthermore, as soon as he fell back to the canvas Hatley stopped the fight without giving him the time to recover.
His latest stoppage decision has got the attention of both MMA fans and fighters alike. Let’s see how the MMA community is reacting to this late stoppage from Kerry Hatley.
MMA pros slams Kerry Hatley over his late stoppage
The MMA community has gone wild after the co-main event of UFC Austin. Jalin Turner shocked the world as he finished a gamed Bobby Green in a very quick fashion. However, all this rage is not about the fighters but about the referee of the fight, Kerry Hatley.
The fight fans are not shying away from calling out Hatley for this blunder of a stoppage. “Damn that was hard to watch,” said an X user. Furthermore, one fan claimed the stoppage to be “utterly disgusting”. Another fan went on to compare Hatley with Mario Yamazaki by saying, “Yamazaki lives on”.

Furthermore, multiple UFC fighters have also reacted to this bad stoppage. Dustin ‘The Diamond’ Poirier took to X and wrote, “Maaan horrible stoppage.” UFC welterweight Gilbert Burns said, “This one hurts to watch“. Johnny Munoz wrote, “The ref wanted that man got or what?“
Apart from this, popular MMA journalist Ariel Helwani straight-up called out referee Hatley with his tweet. “Holy shit. What was the ref doing? Did he want Bobby to die? What the F was that?” Furthermore, UFC flyweight contender Brandon Royval wrote, “That was f*****g ridiculous what was the ref doing”. Terrance McKinney followed it up by saying, “That sh*t was so wrong”.

Furthermore, Bisping was not the only UFC commentator to call out Hatley for endangering Bobby’s life at UFC Austin. Daniel Cormier took to X and said, “One of the absolute worst stoppages in MMA history like wtf was going on. On your stomach taking punches and it still isn’t enough. Crazy!”
During his post-fight interview with Daniel Cormier, Jalin Turner further went on to question the late stoppage from Hatley. Furthermore, he claimed that Bobby was wobbled, but he had to do his job until the referee pulled him off.
After the fight, fellow Lightweight Renato Moicano went on to call Turner for a fight via social media. “Hey @danawhite I saw that co-main event Renato Moicano vs @JalinTurner let’s keep this fight… first round ko… no injuries… congrats Turner see you Feb,” said Moicano.
This was possibly the biggest win of Jalin’s career. Furthermore, it will be interesting to see what he does after this fight. Given that he took zero damage against Green, Turner might agree to fight Moicano in February 2024. The fans will have to wait and see what his next big move will be.
