The Undertaker is a name that people, not just within WWE but also those outside of the pro wrestling industry, admire a lot. Due to the kind of commitment he has shown to the profession for over three decades, The Phenom deserves every bit of praise from the audience.
Even though Taker still had all the passion, with the passage of time, age started taking effect on his body. Due to the kinds of injuries he suffered over the years, the 58-year-old retired in 2020. It’s now been over 3 years since we saw the last of him inside the ring, and a WWE legend has dropped a big hint about The Undertaker’s possible return to action.
Sharing details about the same, veteran referee Mike Chioda revealed that the 6’10 could be coming out of retirement ahead of WrestleMania 40. It happened in the latest episode of his ‘Monday Mailbag’ podcast, as he shared that The Deadman looks in great shape following a successful hip replacement surgery.
Mike Chioda says The Undertaker looks in great shape after having some (successful) surgeries done & says he thinks Taker’s got one more match in him & could see him doing one more match.

Moreover, he said that looking at the kind of shape Taker is in, he truly believes that The Undertaker could be returning for one final match. If this claim by Chioda really becomes a reality, pro wrestling fans will surely want to see their favorite character compete for one last time in the Stamford-based promotion.
When did The Undertaker last appear in the WWE?
The Deadman’s last match in WWE took place back at WrestleMania 36 against AJ Styles, but he has made a number of appearances since that bout. His first appearance after his win against AJ was at the conclusion of Survivor Series 2020, as he wore his trademark trench coat and hat. On the show, he gave an emotional speech and received a special farewell.
Following this, on April 1, 2022, Taker was formally inducted into the Hall of Fame, which was surely one of the most memorable inductions in the event’s history. On the same weekend, the veteran appeared on the entrance stage on both nights of WrestleMania 38.
After about 10 months, he made a special appearance on WWE RAW’s January 23, 2023, RAW is XXX episode. While everyone would have expected him to come out as The Phenom, the 6’10 came out as the American Badass and confronted LA Knight. It was the same night when he had that special moment with late WWE star Bray Wyatt.
The Deadman was last seen in the Triple H-led promotion on October 10, 2023, as he made a special visit to NXT. It was his first-ever appearance on the yellow brand, and it was really memorable. With recent claims of Taker returning to the ring for one last time, it’ll be interesting to see whom he will fight. But will he really return to action? Only the future knows.
