After a 25-year-long association with WWE, pro wrestling veteran Edge joined All Elite Wrestling. Making a grand debut, Adam Copeland showed up on October 1’s AEW WrestleDream event. And the response he received from the audience was absolutely spectacular.
When telling the reason for making this shift, Edge revealed that his daughters wanted him to be with Christian Cage. But it seems that it wasn’t something that his former partner wanted. The reason being that the 49-year-old turned on The Rated R Superstar on their reunion after 2 years.

This happened on AEW Dynamite’s latest episode, when the veteran called out his former tag team partner for a reunion. But the response he got was shocking, as Cage gave a clear message by saying, “Go fu*k yourself.” This was something nobody expected, and the fans are quite unhappy about this segment.
Telling how Christian betraying Edge is something that shouldn’t have happened, someone wrote, “This is bad.” “Well that sucks. You wait forever for the reunion and they decide to write it as a rivalry?,” an audience member said while saying that the two should’ve joined forces. (Via: X)
Looking at how the whole segment was carried out, it doesn’t seem like these real-life friends are going to become partners. But as The Rated R Superstar is set to make his in-ring debut on October 10, it remains to be seen if Cage makes his presence felt during that encounter.
Is Edge next in line for a shot at Christian Cage’s TNT Championship?
WWE legend Edge and Christian have already come face-to-face on two different occasions in less than a week. Due to this reason, a lot of people wonder if The Rated R Superstar is next in line for a shot at Cage’s TNT Championship.
It may sound too early to put The Ultimate Opportunist straight away in a title feud, but there’s a high possibility that it could be the actual plan. As the 49-year-old is a reputed name in the industry, there’s potentially no need to take time to build him up in All Elite Wrestling.
This might be the reason why Tony Khan might be thinking of putting the two real-life friends in an epic rivalry sooner than the fans expect. With Canadian Rage’s title on the line, the stakes of their feud will only go higher, and the audience will surely get to witness some memorable moments throughout their matches.
Whether Edge challenges Christian or not is something everyone would be looking forward to. But if AEW really books them for a title rivalry, it’ll surely help them generate more profit. Can The Rated R Superstar win the TNT title within weeks of signing with Tony Khan’s company? Only the future knows the answer.
