Seth Rollins is one of WWE’s biggest stars at the moment. The former Shield member is a 4 time World Champion in the company. Despite being a top star on the roster, Rollins has a dismal record against one of WWE’s biggest stars. The Visionary’s win-loss record against 2023 men’s Royal Rumble winner Cody Rhodes is something for him to forget.
The American Nightmare made his return at WrestleMania 38 last year and defeated Rollins at the show. The duo then clashed multiple times in both televised and non-televised matches and Rhodes picked up the win on all occasions.
Rollins and Rhodes faced each other on 22 occasions in the WWE and Rollins shockingly ended up losing all the matches. 20 of the matches happened since the former AEW EVP made his WWE return last year. The two superstars last competed against each other at the WWE Road to WrestleMania Super Show on February 5, 2023.
Rhodes was recently asked about his relationship with Rollins and he had some interesting things to say. “And Seth and I genuinely, if you ask him the same thing, if he was sitting in this chair he’d tell you, he doesn’t like me, I don’t like Seth. We’re not gonna get along ever. However, the utmost respect for him. And for him to look at me as an asset made me not worry about what anyone else was thinking,” said Rhodes. (h/t via Sportskeeda)
Both stars last came face to face on WWE TV during the Royal Rumble match last month. Rollins was eliminated by Logan Paul in the match and it looks like that’s the WrestleMania program moving forward.
Cody Rhodes’ Return to WWE After His AEW Run
Cody Rhodes was an integral part of launching All Elite Wrestling. He left the promotion in early 2022 after failed contract talks with owner Tony Khan. He then made a shocking return to the WWE at WrestleMania 38 as Seth Rollins’ mystery opponent. Both stars then went on to have a trilogy of matches and Rhodes came on top on all occasions.
The American Nightmare suffered a torn pectoral muscle injury at the Hell in a Cell PPV in 2022. Rhodes successfully completed his match at the show. But he was pulled off from WWE programming for the remainder of the year due to an injury. He then made his return to the company at this year’s Royal Rumble match. He won the battle royal after entering the match from the number 30 position.

Rhodes is now set to challenge the WWE Undisputed Universal Champion at WrestleMania 39. He will be keeping a close eye on the championship match between current champion Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn this Saturday at the Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event.
