SUMMARY
- UFC 300 is set to take place on April 13, 2024.
- The main event is yet to be made official, and many believe it to be a better card than expected.
The UFC 300 event is set to take place in April at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada. With most of the major fights announced, there have been solid comparisons to the previous UFC 200 event. Although the main event has yet to be made official, many believe it to be a better card than expected. This includes the depth of the main card, which is seen to involve an array of talents.
A solid foundation has already been laid for the mega event, which includes two title fights and one title eliminator, with possibly more to come. Initial speculations for the return of the biggest MMA star, Conor McGregor, were shut down after he announced it would be in mid-year. The card still has a serious talent pool of accomplished fighters, including current and former champions.

Mcgregor revealed that he would be making his comeback in International Fight Week on June 29, most certainly against Michael Chandler. Although fans were disappointed, UFC president Dana White didn’t fail to stack the event with big names and star power.
This would include the likes of former Lightweight Champion Charles Oliveira, former light heavyweight champion Jiri Prochazka, former Bantamweight Champion Aljamain Sterling and Cody Garbrandt, former flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo, former featherweight Champion Max Holloway, and current BMF Champion Justin Gaethje. This shows the level of competition the fans will be witnessing.
UFC 200 vs UFC 300 fight card
The UFC 200 was hosted at the same T-Mobile Arena when it opened in April 2016. Conor McGregor was supposed to headline the card in a rematch against welterweight Nate Diaz. The fight was later called off due to a $10 million paycheck demand by McGregor. It was later headlined by Meisha Tate and Amanda Nunes.

The event also faced a pullout by Jon Jones, who was scheduled to face arch-rival Daniel Cormier but had to be cancelled by USADA due to a potential anti-doping policy violation by Jones. He was replaced by UFC legend Anderson Silva, who stepped up on short notice in a heavier weight class. Other fighters included Brock Lesnar, Frankie Edgar, José Aldo, Mark Hunt, and Cain Velasquez.
The event broke records with $10,700,000 gates but failed to provide memorable fights and didn’t live up to the fans’ expectations. The UFC 300 card does not only provide matchups that are more competitive and hold better storylines. But also a higher caliber of talent and accomplished mixed martial artists. Also, with marketing and promotions, it’s certain to create new records.
Potential main event for UFC 300
The main event for UFC 300 is yet to be declared, with many possible fights coming into the equation. The frontrunner for the spot would be Welterweight Champion Leon Edwards, facing No. 2 ranked Belal Muhammad. Another interesting angle that opened would be the return of Israel Adesanya, facing Dricus du Plessis or arch-rival Alex Pereira for the trilogy.
Reporter : ” Israel Adesanya is he looking to come back sooner than later soon ? ”
Dana White ( with smirk ) : ” We will find out next week!”

The current light heavyweight champion, Alex Pereira, seems to be open and interested in the spot. Pereira was rumored to face Interim Heavyweight Champion Tom Aspinall for the next title shot, but it was later shut down by both fighters. With so many good fights to choose from for headlining the historic event, fans can be certain that it will be a banger.
