UFC 286 has shaped up to be one of the best cards of the year. Headlined by the trilogy and title fight between Leon Edwards and Kamaru Usman, the event will feature many big names. With a lot of hype behind the card, we are seeing some crazy ticket prices for it as well.
For UFC 286, the promotion is making its return to the United Kingdom. As such, the event is set to take place in London on March 18. Apart from the main event, the card will feature names like Justin Gaethje, Rafael Fiziev, Marvin Vettori, Daniel Rodriguez, and more. However, fans were left stunned as they went to purchase their tickets for the fights.

Recently, the tickets for the event were made available on January 26. However, fans were faced with over 40,000 people in the online queue, waiting to purchase their tickets. For the most part, this is not a surprising phenomenon, due to the hype and popularity of the UFC in the United Kingdom.
Thereafter, the queue slowly began to dwindle once people were made aware of the insane prices they were being made to pay. According to sources, the cheapest current price for a ticket at UFC 286 is £671 or $830! Additionally, there have been complaints from fans, stating that the UFC chops and changes the prices as per their will.
Previously, MMA journalist Jed I. Goodman, reported that the lowest price for a ticket was between £344.95-£481.80 ($426- $594), with the highest being, £4,581 or $5,666!
UFC 286 ticket price hike – Twitter reacts!
Naturally, the extortionate prices saw some negative remarks all over social media. Understandably, the staggering prices have caught many fans off guard, with many posting their reactions online.
260% price increase on #UFC tickets for #UFC286 compared to the London event 12 months ago. It’s a PPV event but not worth that much increase. UFC just fleecing the fans because they know it’ll sell out pic.twitter.com/9IbINQMnBB

I Dk if it’s just me I feel ufc 286 is a great card but for the price of tickets and how little the ufc comes to the uk I feel we’re missing another big fight or 2 to make this card complete and worth the price

Please how can you justify these prices? My tickets from last year and basically the same seats this year just because they are ‘official platinum’ I’d expect Leon Edwards to fireman’s carry me in for this price. @danawhite @UFCEurope @ufc @TicketmasterUK #ufc286 #ticketmaster pic.twitter.com/H1IYRUWLzA

The price of UFC London tickets is an absolute joke…

In my humble opinion @ufc should have made the tickets non-transferable . So many touts already re-selling at double the price. Legitimate fans not able to attend. #UFC286

To make it worse, I paid £470 last year for 4 tickets.. That's the price of 1 ticket this time a row down from before
— James (@JamesMa62162514) January 25, 2023
That was the prices for early release tickets to fighters etc. This was the fightclub price at 9am this morning. Dana and the UFC are absolutely coining it in for a mediocre card pic.twitter.com/p5A1EUGIHb

£170 each ticket for level 1 seating last March and July
£334 each ticket now for level 4 seating

Rightfully, fans have had a go at the UFC and President Dana White for the ticket fiasco. Many fans have pointed out how they purchased tickets at a much lower rate last time around. Additionally, many have expressed their concern over the situation of scalpers and re-sellers.
By re-selling the tickets at a later date, scalpers stand to gain a huge profit, as they are supplying tickets that they bought when prices were low. Similarly, many have also slammed the fact that the UFC is charging such steep rates for what some believe to be a ‘mediocre’ card.

For fans to go to the arenas and spend their hard-earned money, they insist that the event be worth it. Compared to how stacked some of the other cards this year are, UFC 286 definitely falls a little behind. Thus, fans will be having second thoughts before purchasing the tickets and making the trip to the O2 Arena on March 18, 2023.
What are your thoughts on the high ticket prices? Do you believe the UFC has hiked the price too much? What have you made of the scalpers purchasing tickets at the cost of legitimate fans? Leave your thoughts in the comments below.
