With the end of the year rolling around, there is a lot of talk already about what comes next. Whilst a general roadmap and the headliners are known, there is still a lack of a fully fleshed-out card. As such, it leaves room for many welcome additions, including free agents, like Michael Page.
Recently, UFC President Dana White appeared on the FULL SEND PODCAST. Unlike the normal setting, the NELK Boys (Kyle and Steiny) were invited to the UFC headquarters this time around. Notably, fans were able to catch a glimpse of the big board with all the upcoming fights lined up on it. In a brief glimpse, fans managed to catch a peak of a rather interesting fight.

According to the board, a Kevin Holland vs. Michael Page fight is set to take place at UFC 297. Whilst the card is meant to be headlined by Sean Strickland and Dricus Du Plessis, Holland vs. Page is a welcome addition as well. However, keen-eyed fans were quick to point out that there were distinct red dots next to the fighter’s names as well. As such, many wondered as to what it could mean.
According to one Reddit user, “I’m guessing the red dots by both names means something about it not being a finalized fight”. Thus, other fans believe that the fight has only been thought of and might not actually happen. At the same time, there is no confirmation whether either party has accepted the fight. Most importantly, there has been no news of Michael Page signing with the UFC yet either.
Is Michael Page still a free agent?
As mentioned previously, there is no news of ‘Venom’ signing with any promotion yet. Previously, the Englishman declared free agency after his win over Goiti Yamauchi at Bellator 292. Earlier this year, Page parted ways with Bellator after a decade of fighting in the promotion. Thus, there was a lot of talk as to where he would end up next.
Previously, following a title fight loss to Logan Storley, Page decided to test different waters. As such, he had an enthralling BKFC fight with Mike Perry. Following a sudden death round, Perry was eventually declared the winner by decision in what was a pretty big upset. As such, many were uncertain as to what would be next for the 36-year-old Page. Now, after his win and exit from Bellator, Page was suddenly seen as hot property on the market.

In the past, Page openly spoke about a potential UFC stint, but revealed that certain hurdles needed to be dealt with. Moreover, he also made an appearance during a UFC event where he was referred to as “the hottest free agent in the game right now.” Whilst many suspected a move to the UFC, there wasn’t anything concrete on the matter just yet.
Additionally, PFL founder, chairman, and co-owner Donn Davis also spoiled that Michael had signed with the UFC. Speaking on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, Davis made the statement after being asked why he did not sign the Englishman himself. With that said, all signs point to Page signing with the UFC if it hasn’t been done already.
