UFC featherweight champ Alexander Volkanovski is going through a purple patch at the moment. Despite a loss at UFC 284 against Islam Makhachev, Alex earned a moral victory as many fans and experts thought he was the victorious one. Alex’s recent good luck is carrying over from his professional career to his professional life. It looks like the champ is going to become a father soon!
Alexander Volkanovski is married to Emma Volkanovski. In their 8-year relationship, they have been blessed with two daughters, Ariana and Arlie. But the couple is set to welcome the fifth member to their family very soon. In a recent Instagram video, Alex revealed the gender of their unborn child. The whole Volkanovski family was present during the gender reveal ceremony.

After Volk gave both of his daughters the chance to guess the gender of the baby, he finally burst the balloon and revealed the couple is going to have another daughter. Although Alex joked that he wanted a son, both he and his wife Emma were overjoyed by the news. This is the first time they decided to share the news of Emma’s pregnancy with the fans. Needless to say, congratulations came pouring in!
Fighters congratulate Alexander and Emma Volkanovski on their third child
The 34-year-old received well wishes from several big-name fighters. Former UFC middleweight champ and Alex teammate Israel Adesanya was one of the fighters to congratulate him. Izzyl simply wrote, “#GirlDad.” Adesanya’s old rival and Australia’s own Robert Whittaker commented on the post and wrote, “Congrats brother!” City Kickboxing fighter Kai Kara France wrote, “Congrats brah.”
Alexander Volkanovski has become a fan-favorite fighter in recent times. Although he was booed heavily throughout the course of his trilogy bout against Max Holloway, it was understandable due to Max’s stardom. However, with his performance at UFC 284 against Islam Makhahchev, Alex has won the fans over! He fared better than any other fighter against the Dagestani and handily out-struck Makhachev.
Although Islam insists he won the fight fairly, Volk does not agree. In a tweet after the fight, Alexander “The Great” added that he won rounds 2, 3, and 4. So there is definitely an appetite from Volkanovski to fight for the lightweight championship once again. On top of that, the I.V. controversy also adds another wrinkle to the issue. But for now, he has Yair Rodriguez waiting for him in the featherweight division.
Just watched the fight, I definitely think I won 2,3 and 5. Surprised I didn’t get my hand raised! Let’s do the rematch, anywhere, anytime! 👊

Yair Rodriguez defeated Josh Emmett in the UFC 284 co-main event to win the interim 145 lbs belt. So it does seem like the title unification bout is next in line for Volkanovski. However, he will take a short break to spend time with his wife and family, especially after the pregnancy news.
