The action does not stop! UFC makes its return to San Antonio with a certified banger in the main event. With big-name fighters and high stakes involved, fans cannot wait for the event! As such, let’s find out who could be the possible winners and losers of UFC fight night on Saturday.
Headlining the event, we have top bantamweight contenders Marlon Vera and Cory Sandhagen. With both fighters having made serious improvements during their time with the UFC, this is a fight that was inevitable. Moreover, with both fighters having impressive resumes and commendable qualities, the winner of the contest will surely be one step closer to a title shot.
Other than the headliner we will see Holly Holm take on Yana Santos in the co-main event. Coming in off the back of a brand new six-fight deal, Holm will be eager to repay the trust that the UFC has shown in her. That’s not all because we have a ton more amazing fights lined up for the fans on Saturday night.
UFC Fight Night San Antonio main card predictions
Let’s take a look at what’s in store for fans on fight night and what outcome they can expect to see. As such, here are the predictions for the main card of the event in San Antonio.
Marlon Vera vs Cory Sandhagen: Marlon Vera to win via decision
The highlight of the night, Vera vs Sandhagen will be what draws fans to this one. With both renowned for their striking prowess, expect some cracking hits on the night. Moreover, with both fighters having great cardio and durable chins, it is difficult to see either one getting knocked out. As such, like most fans, we are expecting this one to go to a decision, where either fighter could get his hand raised.
Holly Holm vs Yana Santos: Holly Holm to win via decision
For the co-main, we’re picking Holly Holm to deliver the goods. Arguably the stronger fighter, Holm’s height and reach will give her the range to keep Santos at bay whilst dishing out damage of her own. Whilst many are siding with Holm for this one, Santos could deliver a big performance as well. However, for the most part, fans are expecting neither fighter to pull off anything remarkable in this one.
Nate Landwehr vs. Austin Lingo: Nate Landwehr to win via KO/TKO
A frontrunner for the Fight of the Night honors, this one is likely to be a fireworks show. With two hard-hitting, gung-ho brawlers, this fight has all the possibilities of being the best fight to watch. Although Lingo is the taller fighter, he gives up the reach advantage to Landwehr. With both heavy-handed fighters liking to march forward and pressure their opponent, someone is going to get hurt in this one. We’re going with Nate to take this one.
Andrea Lee vs. Maycee Barber: Maycee Barber to win via decision
Next up we have Maycee Barber taking on Andrea Lee. Maycee’s last defeats have been to Roxanne Modafferi, and Alexa Grasso, the current women’s flyweight champ. As such, Maycee seems to have had the tougher fights out of the two and is the favorite for this one.
As for Andrea Lee, she seems to have way too many inconsistent performances, dating back to her time in Invicta FC. Thus, should Maycee fight with a level head and avoid any more shadowboxing mid-fight, she should be good for the win.
Alex Perez vs. Manel Kape: Manel Kape to win via decision
Coming into our next fight, we have #6 and #9 ranked flyweight contenders going head to head. Whilst the top of their division is absolutely stacked, the rest of the division remains a little more fluid. As such, Kape could capitalize on his good run of form and put in work against Perez who is currently on a two-fight skid.
With that said, he is still a very good fighter and will be coming in with a point to prove. Although it should be a close fight, Kape is the one most are touting to win. Another CR7 celebration this time? Only time will tell.
Chidi Njokuani vs. Albert Duraev: Chidi Njokuani to win via KO/TKO
Kicking off the main card, we will see Chidi Njokuani and Albert Duraev, two up-and-coming middleweights. Although Duraev is a good grappler, his inability to put together a proper striking combination is a big weakness. On the other hand, Njokuani is quite good at negating what Duraev has to offer and delivering some powerful blows of his own. If all goes well for him, Njokuani should have a quick night out.
