In recent years, Irish megastar Conor McGregor has kept his fans engaged through regular updates on the leg injury he sustained at UFC 264. However, little did fans know that several of Netflix’s cameras have been following ‘The Notorious‘ around, capturing glimpses into a side of his life that’d otherwise remain unknown. And now, the former two-division champion is set to star in his very own documentary titled – “McGregor Forever.”
The highly-anticipated docuseries has already generated a lot of buzz for a while. McGregor even gave us a sneak peek of the 4-part series by the end of last month. While fans have been eagerly looking forward to the first episode of the Netflix-bound series, Conor took to Twitter to share yet another glimpse into what appears to be nothing short of a movie.

The highly-successful athlete has always carried a larger-than-life aura around him. The upcoming documentary promises to offer an intimate look at the UFC megastar behind the persona. McGregor tweeted, “McGregor Forever is out May 17th only on @Netflix. You’ll get a ringside seat for some of the biggest challenges I’ve faced, how I bounced back, and why I’m still the man to beat in the UFC.“
As the caption suggests, the latest trailer drop tells us why he’s still the biggest draw in the UFC. The video shows snippets of the aforementioned injury, and his much-awaited grand comeback, while also focusing on the highs and lows of his MMA career. The Dublin native is serving as the executive producer, alongside ‘Religion of Sports production company’ producing the docuseries.

As part of the fragments he shared in the trailer, fans reminisced about the time he became a two-weight UFC champion, his win against Donald Cerrone, as well as his recent losses to Dustin Poirier and Khabib Nurmagomedov.
Highlighting his setback against Khabib in 2018, Conor shares, “I got beat, and that’s that.” The two trailers have now provided enough gist to the fans as to what they can expect. However, knowing Conor, there will be much more to it than what he has chosen to reveal so far.
What do we know about Road House? The major studio film starring Conor McGregor
Despite amassing a massive fortune in the UFC, Conor McGregor hasn’t shied away from diving into ventures outside his fighting career. The 34-year-old owns a whiskey brand of his own, alongside a fashion label in collaboration with David August. However, he is also slated to release in a Hollywood flick titled – “Road House.”
The news first broke in August of last year and came as a huge shock to MMA fans. The movie is a remake of the 1980s classic of the same name. As per reports, Conor will portray a character named Jimmy Reno. It was originally played by Marshall Teague in the 1989 film. Aside from this, McGregor will be rubbing shoulders with a big Hollywood name, Jake Gyllenhall.

The 42-year-old American actor will take on the role of Elwood Dalton, a fictional former UFC athlete. Later in the movie he takes on the job of a bouncer at a rough-and-tumble roadhouse in the Florida Keys. So far, the majority of McGregor’s role remains unclear, with reports suggesting he will play Jake’s rival in the film.
The crew began production in the Dominican Republic last year and will stream on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories. Amazon Studios will release the movie, with the exact date still remaining unknown.

The duo made a surprise appearance at the UFC 285 ceremonial weigh-ins to film a face-off. Not only that, the film crew shot a full-fledged fight scene in the Octagon with Jake knocking out a UFC veteran. Conor was ringside to cheer on his co-star.
Rumors suggest the movie will release in the latter half of the year. It is still unclear whether or not Conor McGregor will grace the Octagon before the release.
