Fight Club Akhmat is in the headlines again after Chechen leader and founder of Fight Club Akhmat called out UFC President Dana White after Magomed Ankalaev fought to a draw against Jan Blachowicz in the main event of UFC 282 on December 10 inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
UFC continues to sign fighters from Fight Club Akhmat despite US sanctions on the gym and its affiliates. Magomed Anklaev officially represents Fight Club Akhmat along with several other fighters. Chechen dictator Ramzan Kadyrov hit back at Dana White and demanded he crowns Ankalaev as the UFC Champion. “Has Politics entered the ring and requires you to referee dirty? It’s a sport Dana, be honest.” Kadyrov said in a long message targeted at the UFC President.

Magomed Ankalaev and Jan Blachowicz fought to draw for the UFC Light Heavyweight title at UFC 282. UFC President Dana White did not seem impressed by Ankalaev’s performance and slammed the Dagestani fighter for running away from the fight by switching to wrestling after getting beat in striking exchanges during the first two rounds.
White even claimed he dozed off midway into the fight, slamming “boring” Magomed Anklaev, prompting mixed reactions from UFC fans. Now, Kadyrov has spoken out against the decision, asking White to apologize for the outcome.
UFC fighters who are associated with Ramzan Kadyrov
There are several fighters coming out of Akhmat Fight Club who compete in the UFC Octagon. As of today, Magomed Ankalaev is probably the biggest name in the UFC coming from Akhmat Fight Club gym. Other fighters include Said Nurmagomedov, Albert Duraev, and former UFC Champion Fabricio Werdum.
It was in 2020, that the U.S. Department of Treasury announced sanctions against Akhmat MMA due to their ownership by Ramzan Kadyrov. This means no American citizen or company can do business with them. Be that as it may, UFC President Dana White continues to sign fighters associated with the Chechen leader.
In the recent past, Kadyrov has been spotted with several UFC fighters in Chechnya including Henry Cejudo, Kamaru Usman, and Justin Gaethje. Not long ago, Khamzat Chimaev was spotted with Kadyrov’s sons at UFC 280.
