It has been reported that former WWE star Michael Jones, aka Virgil, passed away on February 28, 2024. He was 61 years old at the time of his demise. As per reports, he was living in Marianna, Pennsylvania, since 2018.

According to sources, he was admitted in a hospital at the time of his death. It is also worth mentioning that on April 16, 2022, Virgil revealed that he had previously suffered two strokes. Also, he was diagnosed with dementia and with stage 1 gastrointestinal cancer. Thus, it seems the former WWE star went through a lot during his final days.

Virgil gained popularity for his tenure with WWF/WWE. In the Stamford-based promotion, he was featured as the personal assistant of Ted DiBiase. He also performed in WCW for four years. During that period, he was known by the names Vincent, Curly Bill, Shane, and Mr.Jones. He also bagged several championships to his name, including winning the Million Dollar Championship once.
Also, Michael was the son of Warren Jones Sr. and Elizabeth Jones. Not to mention, he wasn’t the single child of his parents and had two older brothers and a sister. However, there’s no information available about his wife or children. It has not been known whether he was married or not.
Meanwhile, according to a few sources, he lived with his friend Shawn Raneri. Also, in 2023, he began a GoFundMe campaign where he raised $4,600 for himself. However, as of now, he has left everything behind and is no longer present among us.
