SUMMARY
- Dwayne Johnson interrupted Cody Rhodes on the March 25 episode of Monday Night RAW.
- After their interaction in the opening segment, The Rock attacked Cody Rhodes after the main event.
Dwayne Johnson’s return to WWE has done wonders for him as The Brahma Bull has been doing some of his best heel work. The Rock has been heavily involved in Cody Rhodes’ feud with Roman Reigns, and he’s even set to be a part of a once-in-a-lifetime tag team match at WrestleMania 40.
The hype for this match is already insane, and what helped in increasing it further was the March 25 episode of Monday Night RAW. On the red brand’s latest show, Dwayne Johnson took out Cody in one of the best backstage altercations in the recent history of pro wrestling.
Everyone was shocked by the viciousness of The People’s Champion, as it was a side of Dwayne nobody really saw coming at this stage of his career. In fact, a video from the segment has grabbed the attention of the audience, as it can be seen that The Rock refused to stop his attack on The American Nightmare even after the show was over.
I hate constraints and bullshit rules – and just because some @wwe producer says, “clear” (meaning, we are no longer live on the air and the show is over) that doesn’t mean I just stop whatever I’m doing and tell everyone great job.
It fucking pissed me off. I can’t shut my high… pic.twitter.com/rIGh5GnaBW— Dwayne Johnson (@TheRock) March 30, 2024
In the viral clip, the self-proclaimed Final Boss says, “Just because the show is over, that doesn’t mean that the shit stops. The Rock doesn’t give a f*ck.” After this, Johnson continued mocking Rhodes and even hit him with the belt that had “Mama Rhodes” written on it. All in all, this was arguably the best executed segment in a long time, and that’s why it has helped massively to hype up the Night 1 main event of WrestleMania XL.
Dwayne Johnson’s RAW appearance was a surprise for WWE fans
Dwayne Johnson was surely able to make a strong statement on WWE RAW, but nobody really expected it to happen. In fact, The Rock wasn’t even advertised for the show, and his appearance on Monday Night RAW was a surprise for the fans too.
The People’s Champion showed up on the red brand’s March 25 episode when Cody Rhodes was interacting with the audience. As Dwayne made a shocking appearance, he entered the ring and whispered something in Cody’s ear. In fact, Rhodes responded to the different opinions about the segment in a backstage interview.
While the first half of the show was something the fans hadn’t even forgotten, WWE ended up giving fans a lot more in the final few minutes of the episode. Amid the kind of attention the Triple H-led promotion has given to this storyline, it remains to be seen what happens when they come face-to-face at WrestleMania.
Can Cody Rhodes save himself from Dwayne Johnson’s mind games at WrestleMania 40?
Ever since Dwayne Johnson made his return to WWE at RAW Day 1, he has frequently been in the limelight. In fact, he even attempted to take Cody’s main event spot against Roman Reigns despite The American Nightmare’s Royal Rumble win, which started the “We Want Cody” thing.
Amid all this, a question that has been popping up in the minds of the fans is whether Cody Rhodes can save himself from The Rock’s mind games at WrestleMania 40 or not. A major reason behind this is the stipulation that the Cody vs. Roman match can have if Seth Rollins and Rhodes’ team loses the main event of Night 1.
As revealed by Dwayne, if he and Reigns win the tag team match, it’ll be “Bloodline Rules” at WrestleMania XL’s Night 2, and it can have a major impact on the match result. If The American Nightmare wants to finally finish his story, he’ll have to be extra careful. Thus, it’ll be interesting to see how he handles all this and whether he can dethrone Roman Reigns from the Undisputed Universal title or not.
