With that said, it appears as though #1-ranked lightweight Charles Oliveira might be set to face #4-ranked Arman Tsarukyan shortly. Taking to social media, both fighters have hinted at some fight news very soon. For the most part, many are certain that the two will face each other, as there is no other viable matchup available in the division.
Previously, Arman Tsarukyan made a big statement with his KO win over Beneil Dariush at UFC Austin. Coincidentally, ‘Do Bronx‘ also marked his last win with a KO over Dariush at UFC 289. Following that, Oliveira was meant to take on Islam Makhachev in a rematch at UFC 294. Unfortunately, tragedy struck as Oliveira was gravely injured, only days removed from the fight.
Fans believe that Charles Oliveira can easily beat Arman Tsarukyan
For the most part, a potential fight between Charles and Arman clears up the lightweight division in a big way. Previously, Islam Makhachev revealed that he was not interested in rematches (against Oliveira or Tsarukyan). As such, it left the champ with a shortage of contenders for his next fight. However, with this rumored matchup, that problem is getting solved as well.
Naturally, fans online quickly picked up on the matter and what it meant for the rest of the division. According to the fans, Charles vs. Arman is likely the number-one contender fight. With both fighters already losing to Islam once, it is logical that they face each other. In the meantime, the fight inadvertently confirms that #2-ranked BMF title holder Justin Gaethje will be Islam Makhachev’s next opponent.

For the most part, fans believe that Oliveira will be able to make quick work of Tsarukyan. Despite his deceptively swift hands and devastating power, former champ Oliveira is seen as the favorite coming into this one. Echoing the same, fans wrote, “Easy Charles win tbh. Guess we’re getting Justin vs Islam then” and “Charles sleeps that midget in one”. With the fight seemingly on the horizon, fans cannot wait for it to be officially announced.
Currently, it is unknown whether the fight will be a part of the all-important UFC 300. Previously, Makhachev indicated that he would be willing to make his title defense at UFC 299 in Miami. Thus, there is a real possibility that both fights could end up at UFC 300. At the same time, some believe that the Lightweight Championship fight will likely be postponed for the UFC’s next visit to Abu Dhabi. All things considered, it is an exciting time ahead for fight fans.
