LA Knight has been a highly popular name in the WWE universe for a long time now. Fans have been backing him to make it big in the Triple-H-led promotion ever since he left his Maximum Male Models persona, however, their wish of seeing him win a title hasn’t been fulfilled until now.
As the 40-year-old superstar hasn’t been able to win any Championships in the Stamford-based promotion, a WWE Hall of Famer recently gave advice to LA Knight. The veteran is none other than retired professional wrestler Diamond Dallas Page, also known as DDP.
The Hall of Famer shared his advice for the former NXT Million Dollar Champion, during an appearance on ‘Insight With Chris Van Vliet’ podcast. DDP said, “That guy, he ain’t too old for nothing. He is at the right time at the right place, and I pray for him that [WWE] see it because he deserves it“.
“I remember walking up to him, I wanna say it was Mania this year, and I said, ‘Dude, I just want you to know, I personally love what you’re doing and watching you from NXT coming up,’ and him working with Bronson [Reed], who’s one of my boys, he’s worked out in that gym with me 50 times. I was like, ‘I love what you’re doing,'” the veteran added. (Via- Wrestling Inc)
Despite having the support of the WWE Universe, LA Knight has still not been able to win Championship gold in the Triple-H-led promotion. Looking at the current situation, it seems that the 40-year-old performer will still have to wait to have his first-ever title reign on the Stamford-based promotion’s main roster.
LA Knight won the Slim Jim Battle Royal at WWE SummerSlam
The Triple-H-led promotion may not have pulled the trigger on the LA Knight by giving him a championship reign. But the company recently gave his fans something to cheer about by giving him a massive win in Detroit, on August 5, at WWE SummerSlam 2023.
The superstar was a part of the 20-man Slim Jim Battle Royal at the Biggest Party of the Summer, and he emerged as the winner. LA Knight, Sheamus, and AJ Styles were the final three in the match, and in the final moments, LA sent his long-time competitor Sheamus over-the-top rope to end the event on a high note.
As soon as the Battle Royal was announced by the Triple-H-led promotion, many believed that it was WWE’s way of keeping LA on the SummerSlam card. All such speculations became true, as the 40-year-old eventually won the match. Fans have been desiring that this win is the start of a potential title run for the performer, but it solely depends on what the company plans. It remains to be seen how Knight will be handled in the upcoming weeks.
