It was recently speculated that a former WWE Champion could return at Payback after being away from TV due to an injury. But, now, another new name is in the discussion for a return at Saturday’s show, and it’s none other than Nia Jax. So, let’s check out if the former WWE star can really make a return to the Triple H-led promotion on Saturday.

All the discussions about Nia’s WWE return started after Wrestlelamia reported that the 3-time Women’s Champion is training for a comeback to pro wrestling. It was also revealed that she’s training with Hall of Famer D-Von Dudley at his wrestling school in Orlando.
As soon as these reports went public, people started sharing different opinions about her return to in-ring action. Most of the fans believe that she’ll return to the Stamford-based promotion. If that’s going to be the case, what better way than to do that on the September 2 Payback show in Pennsylvania?
If she makes her return at WWE Payback, it can be during any of the women’s matches on the card, as her interference in a match would probably make her look dominant. It remains to be seen if she’ll really return as soon as Saturday or if the audience will have to wait further to see Nia again in Triple H’s company.
WWE veteran believes Nia Jax should return to challenge Rhea Ripley
While Nia Jax’s return to Payback is uncertain, a WWE veteran believes that she should definitely make a return to the Stamford-based promotion in the future. The veteran is none other than former WWE writer Vince Russo, and he shared that Jax should return to challenge Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley.
This happened on Writing with Russo’s latest episode, as Vince and the show host, Dr. Chris Featherstone, talked about a potential in-ring return for the 3-time Women’s Champion. While doing so, the ex-WWE writer shared disappointment about the current situation of the women’s division but also claimed that she could potentially return to challenge The Eradicator.
Russo said,” There’s nothing going on in the Women’s division. To me, the only way you could bring her in is as an opponent for Rhea Ripley. I’m not saying that does anything for me, but what else?”
It must be noted that Jax and Ripley already crossed paths in 2021 during Nia’s previous run with the Triple H-led promotion. But a returning Nia Jax looking to again make her name in the women’s division would probably raise the stakes of their feud. It’ll be interesting to see if we’ll get to see this rivalry come to reality if and when the 3-time WWE Champion returns to the promotion.
