Ever since CM Punk was terminated from AEW in August, various speculations about his in-ring future have been made. Among everything going on around what he’ll be up to, a WWE return is without a doubt the most talked-about thing in the professional wrestling industry.
The Straight Edge Superstar‘s last stint with the company didn’t end on good terms. But a lot of people believe that he could still be on his way back to the Triple H-led promotion. In the midst of all possibilities, a WCW legend has shared a strange take on his rumored WWE return.
The veteran we’re talking about is none other than pro wrestling icon Eric Bischoff. The 68-year-old shared his opinion about the Best In The World potentially returning to the Stamford-based promotion during a recent interview on the 83 Weeks Podcast.

Talking about the same, Bischoff revealed why the Triple H-led promotion is better off without the 6-time WWE Champion. Saying that the company is doing great work even without him, Eric said, “WWE doesn’t need CM Punk. They are doing very well without him.”
Even though his comments about Punk’s rumored return to his former workplace aren’t what most of the fans want, it’s true that the company is doing pretty well currently. With that being said, the former AEW star’s return can make things even more spectacular, as he’s still a massive draw among the pro wrestling audience.
WWE drops another CM Punk reference on Monday Night RAW
Bischoff may have claimed that CM Punk is not someone WWE needs, but it’s true that if he comes back, it would be massive. The activities in recent weeks have also enhanced the hype of a return by the 6-time World Champion, as references have been made to the star.
Previously, the company’s megastars Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins have also made references to The Straight Edge Superstar during promos. But things got to an upper level as the Stamford-based promotion dropped another reference on this week’s Monday Night RAW.
This moment took place when Shinsuke Nakamura was beating Ricochet on the ramp. While attacking him, he took a note out of Punk’s book by hitting his iconic GTS. As this move isn’t regularly used by the Japanese star, fans believe it’s an indication to The Straight Edge Superstar.

Whether CM returns or not is something to look forward to, but such hints are increasing his rumored return’s buzz. Reports have claimed that Punk could return at Survivor Series 2023. Will this rumor actually become a reality at the event? Only the future will tell the answer.
