SUMMARY
- Jinder Mahal will be challenging Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship on next week's RAW.
- Tony Khan made a controversial tweet about WWE's booking decision to give The Modern Day Maharaja a title shot.
AEW President Tony Khan has been in the headlines ever since he took a dig at WWE star Jinder Mahal. The Modern Day Maharaja is set to challenge Seth Rollins for his World Heavyweight title next week, and Khan is probably not happy over this decision by the organization.
Responding to the USA Network on X, the Jacksonville-based promotion’s CEO shared a tweet about Jinder. The pro wrestling figure wrote, “A moral victory for USA is one win more than their World Title challenger Jinder Mahal has in the past 364 days. because it’s been literally a full year since he won a match.”
As soon as he shared this post, the WWE universe took the internet by storm. Fans started showing their support for the 37-year-old performer. But, now, an active star from the Stamford-based promotion has also made his stand clear about this situation by giving a savage response to Tony’s outburst against Mahal.

Replying to the AEW president’s outburst against The Modern Day Maharaja’s recent booking by the NXT’s rising star, Edris Enofe, probably a bit too far. In his reply, the youngster went straight to the point, and simply tweeted, “STFU.” While it might seem a bit too much to some, others feel that this was necessary due to Tony’s tweet about Mahal’s booking.
It must be noted that Edris has been a part of the yellow brand since late 2021, and he’s currently working alongside Malik Blade as a tag team. With his reply, the development territory star has surely gotten a lot of recognition among fans, and a lot of them have been praising him for his sarcastic reply to the AEW CEO.
Edris Enofe isn’t the only pro wrestling figure to hit back at Tony Khan
Even though Enofe was probably the first guy from WWE to hit back at Tony Khan in a sarcastic way, he wasn’t the first pro wrestling figure to come out in Mahal’s support. The legendary Eric Bischoff also took a dig at the AEW president’s comments over WWE’s booking of Jinder.
In a way of showing his opinion even without saying a word, Eric shared the clown (🤡)emoji, as a reply to Khan’s tweet. Moreover, the CEO also took note of his response, and both of them had a long back-and-forth exchange of tweets.
While fans have been heavily supporting the Indo-Canadian pro wrestler, The Modern Day Maharaja himself wasn’t far behind. The 37-year-old also made a statement in a now-deleted tweet by writing, “Who tf is Hook?” His tweet was a reference to how Tony himself has booked a youngster against Samoa Joe and is raising objections about his bout.
Even though the former WWE Champion deleted the reply, his response has enhanced the buzz around the situation. With Jinder set to fight Seth on the January 15 episode of RAW, it remains to be seen what happens on the show. Will the Triple H-led promotion take a brave call and give Mahal another title reign? Only the future knows the answer.
