SUMMARY
- WWE is set to organize this year's WrestleManin in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
- WrestleMania 40 will be held on April 6 and 7, 2024, at Lincoln Financial Field.
With WWE Royal Rumble 2024, the road to WrestleMania 40 is officially underway, and this year’s mega event promises to be a tremendous one. While it’s true that the promotion is doing great in terms of booking decisions, they’re probably going to lose a 38-year-old Superstar after The Show of Shows in 2024.
The pro wrestler in question here is none other than The Scottish Warrior, Drew McIntyre. The former WWE Champion has recently been doing some really exceptional work as a heel, and he is currently set to compete in the Men’s Royal Rumble match on January 27.
But it has been reported that he could be on his way out of the Triple H-led promotion after this year’s WrestleMania. Drew’s rumored departure from the organization could be a huge decision by the 6-foot-5 star, as he’s currently a major attraction in the promotion. Thus, it remains to be seen what he decides.
Drew McIntyre has not signed a new WWE contract
As speculations about McIntyre’s departure from the promotion started, a lot of people wondered what the reason was behind it. So to answer this, Drew’s contract is set to expire in April 2024, and he has still not signed a new contract. This might be an indication that he’s not interested in renewing his deal with the professional wrestling organization.

If the 38-year-old performer eventually decides to discontinue his association with the Triple H-led promotion, he’ll become a free agent after WrestleMania 40. If that’s really the case, The Scottish Warrior will definitely become one of the hottest free agents in the entire industry.
McIntyre was released from WWE previously in 2014
Even though speculations have been ongoing that the 6-foot-5 star might be leaving WWE, if he does, it wouldn’t be the first time his association with the company ends. During his previous run with the company, McIntyre was released from the Stamford-based promotion in 2014.
In his first stint, Drew was referred to as The Chosen One, but he never reached the heights of success he wanted. That was why The Scottish Warrior ended up departing the Triple H-led promotion after a long run of seven years. Following this, the 38-year-old started competing in ICW and achieved a lot of success there.
Due to the kind of performances he gave, WWE decided to re-sign McIntyre to the organization, and he returned on April 1, 2017, at NXT TakeOver: Orlando. After being on the yellow brand for about a year, Drew was called up to the main roster, where he has been spectacular.
Now, it’s been over 5 years since the former 3MB member has been a RAW Tag Team Champion alongside Dolph Ziggler. In fact, McIntyre also won the prestigious WWE Championship in 2020. With such accomplishments under his belt, it’ll be a huge loss for the Triple H-led promotion if The Scottish Warrior leaves. So, it’ll be interesting to see what happens after his contract expires.
