In 2021, he was a finalist for the Davey O’Brien Award and the Heisman Trophy and was the only one in the Buckeyes history to throw five touchdowns against a Big Ten competitor. He also accounted for a Rose Bowl record by throwing six touchdowns. In 2022 he was the one who had the betting odds in his favor for the Heisman trophy.
He started his season by setting a conference record in a match against Michigan State. In the Peach Ball games as well he had been a very stern contender. In the semifinals threw for 364 yards and accounted for four touchdowns. Stroud then announced that he would ditch his leftover two years at college football and enter the 2023 NFL Draft.
