Kelce was exceptional with 4 receptions and a touchdown for 26 yards. However, the star player’s mother, Donna Kelce, has played a huge role in his success.
Donna has been the NFL star’s biggest supporter since the beginning. As per reports, she spent most of her childhood with her father and stepmother, Mary. Donna Kelce was reportedly only 12 when her biological mother passed away. She also had a brother Don, who was 2 years younger than her. However, Mary had always been supportive of Donna and Don.
The mother of the Chiefs star herself was an athlete during her childhood days. In an interview, Donna revealed that her father didn’t like the idea of women playing sports. However, her stepmother Mary supported her and allowed her to play. Donna even participated in the Junior Olympics in childhood in track and field and came out victorious.
“By the grace of God, if we didn’t have [Mary] I don’t think we would have made it,” Donna said in her sons’ Podcast.
Donna Kelce tied the knot with Ed Kelce after falling in love with him. According to reports, it was love at first sight for them. Donna was reportedly going on a date with some other guy that date, but she decided to stop by a bar. There she met Ed, and they fell in love, got married, and had Travis and Jason Kelce.
While working at a Bank, Donna Kelce took good care of her two sons. Though she and Ed Kelce parted ways after 25 years, they made sure to always be there for their kids.

Donna Kelce wouldn’t have felt more proud than she did last in the NFL 2022. That’s primarily because both her sons were playing the Super Bowl against each other. It’s worth noting that just like Travis Kelce, Jason Kelce is also an NFL star. He plays as the center for the Philadelphia Eagles, and the team was against Travis’ Chiefs in Super Bowl 2022.
Everyone was curious to know which son was Donna Kelce supporting. However, instead of choosing one, the mother of the star players was rooting for both of them. She donned a shirt that had the Eagles’ color on one side and the Chiefs’ on the other. Donna had a clear bag as well with both her sons’ jersey numbers. Moreover, she wore sneakers for the Chiefs on her left foot, and the Eagles on her right.

However, in the end, Travis Kelce’s Chiefs came out as the winner by defeating the Eagles by 38-35. She was happy for Travis, but at the same time, comforted Jason, who was emotional. Donna Kelce made it clear that the fact that both her sons were playing in the Super Bowl was a victory in itself for her.
“I know that they’re very talented and very athletic. It was just a joy to go to all the games — lacrosse, baseball, hockey — they played almost every single sport you can think of; basketball. So it’s just been a pure joy to watch them compete and be allowed to do it for this many years…,” she said.
Donna has reportedly been supportive of her sons throughout their careers. She has mentioned many times that Travis and Jason Kelce have been quite competitive since the beginning. No matter which of her sons performs better, they must be equally efficient in her eyes.
