Following his retirement, there have been a lot of questions about what Tom Brady will get up to next. With many anticipating a move as an analyst, it appears as though Brady has a different plan.
Recently, Radar Online revealed that Brady is delaying his move to FOX Sports. Moreover, sources close to the former NFL star have revealed that Brady is considering a career in standup comedy instead. Thus, the former Bucs QB will likely indulge in this new passion before his analyst gig for the 2024 NFL season.
Unfortunately, many in his close circle have urged Brady to drop the idea. According to a source, “Tom was a terrific quarterback, but he needs to toss this idea before it’s too late. As a comic — he’s strictly a water boy.” Reportedly, the 45-year-old got the idea after the release of his film, ’80 for Brady’.
The movie revolves around four best friends traveling to see the quarterback play live at the 2017 Super Bowl. Naturally, Brady stars in the movie as himself. Apparently, co-stars Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, and Rita Moreno’s praise really got Brady thinking about seriously pursuing a profession as a comic.
Tom Brady announced retirement not so long after his divorce
Previously, we saw Tom part ways with Gisele Bündchen, his wife of 13 years. The pair initially tied the knot in 2009 and even have 2 kids together. Their divorce was made official on October 28, 2022. According to sources, Gisele was unhappy with Brady for making a U-turn on his decision to retire. Unfortunately for Brady, his return to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was not one filled with glory either.
As such, Brady’s marriage with Gisele was going through a torrid time, and the Brazilian fashion model was unhappy with him continuing to play. Thus, she gave him an ultimatum and declared that she did not wish to see the American injure himself whilst playing in the NFL and wanted Brady to give more time to his family. With Brady choosing to return to the field, it was only a matter of time before the two would eventually separate.

Since then, Brady has announced that he has retired, and for good this time. Taking to social media, Brady announced his departure from the field. The 5 time Super Bowl MVP winner made his debut in 2000 for New England Patriots. Building a legacy, Tom helped the Patriots become 6-time league champions as well.
Having landed a huge deal as an analyst for FOX Sports, Brady’s career path was seemingly set. But with this new rumor doing the rounds, it’s anyone’s guess where Brady ends up next. Do you think Tom will take to standup comedy? Will he be any good? Is the rumor just a red herring? Leave your thoughts in the comments below.
