An awful tweet from NFL pundit Skip Bayless breaks the Internet! Monday night at NFL ended tragically. Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin collapsed on the field in the first quarter. Hamlin, 24, was treated with cardiopulmonary resuscitation before being taken by ambulance to a local hospital. His condition is said to be critical. He has a tube in his throat to get oxygen.
Fans are shell-shocked by what they witnessed, and sending out prayers for the 24-year-old and his family. Skip Bayless who always seems to invite controversies, took it a bit far with his tweet. Skip made a fool of himself after his tweet about the decision to postpone the game.
No doubt the NFL is considering postponing the rest of this game – but how? This late in the season, a game of this magnitude is crucial to the regular-season outcome … which suddenly seems so irrelevant.

I’ve been a sports journalist for 32 years, and I’m not sure I’ve ever been as embarrassed by my profession as I am after reading this tweet.
I know your career is built on getting attention in any way possible, but I didn’t realize you’d go this far.

You’ve gotta log off and humble yourself as a human being. Damar is in critical condition Skip! We need positivity, let the league sort this out as both teams don’t care about playing at this moment.

Damar Hamlin’s life is crucial. The Bills-Bengals game is not.
Go to church & find your soul, Skip.

I really don’t want to give your gross tweet more attention, but I do want to let you know that almost every single person in this industry thinks you are a gutless, spineless, tiny little coward of a man who is awful at his job and at being a human.

What a heartless sentiment Skip Bayless. Damar Hamlin is in critical condition. We are all praying for his recovery.🙏🏼 The game has been officially suspended.#DamarHamlin #BuffaloBills pic.twitter.com/gaRIcfpYV5

The Tweet from Bayless despite being not wrong, as the game had the potential for serious post-season ramifications. However, the Tweet came at a very wrong time, as sports is not about life and death. At the moment Hamlin is struggling for his life, and nothing is more important than a person’s life. Bayless should have considered this before making such insensitive remarks.
What happened to Damar Hamlin?
The injury took place when Damar Hamlin got tackled by Tee Higgins. Higgins tackled Hamlin in his chest with his shoulder. Hamlin was quick to get on his feet, but barely seconds later collapsed on the field. Athletics trainers rushed to the scene to help immediately. The players from both teams were crying, some turned away from looking at Hamlin in distress.
Many NFL stars and other notable athletes have Tweeted about the news and send prayers to Damar and his family. Los Angeles Lakers foward LeBron James was unable to contain his tears on hearing the news, and send his prayers to the 24-year-old.
Praying for you kid!!!🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 https://t.co/cC3ZsnpsjR

Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest during the game, but his heartbeat has been restored by medical professionals on the field. Hamlin is currently undergoing tests and is under sedatives. The coaches of both teams weren’t interested in resuming play and neither were the players. The NFL communicated with the NFL Players Association and agreed to postpone the game.
