Damar Hamlin had an unfortunate accident recently which saw him ending up in a hospital! The Buffalo Bills’ safety player had a bad collision against Cincinnati Bengal’s wide receiver Tee Higgins during a game on January 3rd. Damir’s clash against Tee caused a cardiac arrest. It resulted in a scary situation on the field and ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky started praying.
Sports broadcasters shy away from any sensitive topics such as religion. However, Damar’s situation is not something that occurs on a football field on a regular basis. As the NFL star fell down to the ground, medical staff rushed in to help him. The situation was so scary that a defibrillator was brought in. Damar was later rushed to the hospital in an ambulance.

As the incident was unfolding, something incredible happened on the field. Players gathered around on the field in a circle and started offering their prayers. It was even more surprising to see ESPN broadcaster Dan Orlovsky break out in prayer in the middle of a live telecast. It just pointed out the desperation amongst the people on the field to help Damar in any way possible.
It has certainly impressed Ben Shapiro. Shapiro is a controversial political figure, who founded The Daily Wire. Ben Shapiro took on his Facebook account to share his thoughts on Orlovsky offering prayers on live TV. He was pleasantly surprised and touched by the gesture. Ben simply wrote, “That’s not something you see every day. And on ESPN, no less.” (h/t via Ben Shapiro)
