Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bündchen is famous in the world of the National Football League (NFL). While she herself has no stake in any of the teams involved, Gisele was married to the biggest star in the league, Tom Brady. After meeting each other for the first time in 2006, Gisele and Tom dated for a couple of years and decided to tie the knot in 2009.
Although they saw many ups and downs throughout their marriage, the couple spent 13 years together. During their married life, Tom has won several Super Bowl titles. The couple also had two children Vivian and Benjamin and they are very much a part of their lives despite their divorce. In the latter part of 2022, the couple shocked the fans and revealed that they were going to split up.
Although fans were really curious to know what kind of settlement the couple had, Gisele and Tom kept the details under wraps. It led to several speculations about the reason why the couple broke up. Because both Tom and Gisele kept quiet, fans kept speculating that Tom’s football career and the subsequent injuries were the reason for their divorce. But, Gisele has finally broken her silence on the topic.
Gisele Bündchen rubbishes reports that she divorced Tom Brady for NFL
Insider reports claimed immediately after their divorce on October 28, 2022, that Gisele Bündchen was furious about Tom’s decision to break his retirement. After winning the 7th Super Bowl ring of his career, Tom decided to retire from NFL. However, he later went back on his decision and wanted to continue his career to win more titles. But it reportedly angered Gisele who apparently did not like the fact that Tom was taking punishment on the field.
However, during a recent interview with Enews, Gisele denied the reports. Talking about Tom’s career, Gisele added, “Listen, I have always cheered for him, and I would continue forever, If there’s one person, I want to be the happiest in the world, it’s him, believe me. I want him to achieve and to conquer. I want all his dreams to come true. That’s what I want, really, from the bottom of my heart.” (h/t Geo News)
Bündchen revealed that the claims were blown out of proportion. Although Tom’s career and the continuous injuries did have an impact on their relationship, it was not the only reason why the couple ultimately parted ways. As matter of fact, the 42-year-old added that such big decisions are consequences of many accumulative reasons.
Since their divorce, Gisele has seemingly moved on with her life and reportedly got into a relationship with her jiu-jitsu instructor Joaquim Valente. Although Tom has not dated anyone publicly, his on-field career is over. After a horrendous season with Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Brady finally announced his retirement at the start of February, 2023.
