A look at Drake Maye’s personal life
Born on August 30, 2002, Drake Maye has proved himself as a powerful footballer. The star player was born to Mark Maye and Aimee Maye in North Carolina, USA. He is not the only athlete in his family as it runs in his blood. His father was also a QB for the Tar Heels and played football from 1983 to 1987.
Unlike Maye and his father, his brothers used to play different sports in college. The 21-year-old has three brothers, Luke, Cole, and Beau Maye. While Luke and Cole are older than Drake, Beau is the youngest. Luke Maye played basketball for North Carolina from 2015 to 2019. He was even part of the National Championship team in 2017.
As for Cole Maye, he was a baseball player and played as a pitcher. He was a part of the National Championship baseball team of the University of Florida in 2017. The younger brother of Drake Maye, Beau, is also a basketball player like Luke. He joined the Tar Heels basketball team last year.

Drake Maye has been passionate about football since he was a kid. He began playing football while he was in high school. The star QB went to Myers Park High School and played football there. He even became the MaxPreps North Carolina player of the year. With his performance, the star player was a 4-star prospect and was first going to play for Alabama.
The 6-foot-4 quarterback began playing for North Carolina in 2021. He played only 4 games as a freshman. The 21-year-old got his chance when Sam Howell left to play in the NFL. After fighting for the QB spot, Drake Maye became the starter in August last year. In his first game as a starter, the QB completed 29 out of his 37 passing attempts. He recorded a brilliant 5 touchdowns for 294 yards.
With his excellent performance, Drake Maye became the ACC Rookie of the Year in 2022. He became the ACC Offensive Player of the Year and ACC Player of the Year as well. Throughout his college career till now, the 230 lb player completed 536 out of his 812 passing attempts. He recorded 55 TDs and 12 interceptions for 6,969 passing yards. Maye also has 13 TDs for 1,019 rushing yards.
