Nick Diaz return to the Octagon at UFC 266, the Stockton Slugger confirmed the news on the social media platform, Twitter.
It looks like we will finally get to witness the return of Stockton’s very own Nick Diaz. The former Strikeforce welterweight champion took to Twitter to confirm the news in a thank note to his BJJ coach Cesar Gracie. Earlier, Cesar Gracie had confirmed that he will be helping the elder Diaz for his upcoming bout, teasing huge news. Needless to say, the news is here with Diaz confirming his UFC return.
I want to thank my Team @CesarGracieBJJ @Elfrogito and #rossgoodman for getting shit done. It’s fight time. #UFC266 #KillorBeKilled #war

While the opponents remain unnamed, it’s safe to say that we already have a clear idea about who Diaz will be taking on inside the Octagon. The elder of the Diaz has not been seen inside the Octagon following his decision loss to Anderson Silva which was later overturned after Silva tested positive for Turinabol, and Diaz tested positive for marijuana.
Happy to announce I’m officially representing @nickdiaz209 and will be helping him prepare for his next fight. Hope to make an announcement soon.

UFC president Dana White had earlier revealed that they are working on a potential fight between Robbie Lawler and Nick Diaz. However, he did not confirm the news, calling that the fight is in the works and the promotion is talking to both parties. Now, it looks like we may finally have our confirmation with the Stockton SLugger sending out the good news through a tweet.
Robbie Lawler vs Nick Diaz 2: 17 years in the making
Robbie Lawler and Nick Diaz share a grueling rivalry with each other. Diaz and Lawler shared the Octagon back in 2004, with Diaz picking up a stoppage win over a vintage Lawler. Tyron Woodley and Nick Diaz remain the only two opponents to hand a stoppage loss to the Ruthless Robbie Lawler, and with 17 years in the making of this rematch, stakes are certainly high.
