Serena Williams was back to her winning ways after almost taking a year off due to an injury which she suffered during the opening round of the Wimbledon 2021.
Serena Williams and her doubles partner Ons Jabeur had to fight in order to scrap a win against their opponents Sara Sombles Tormo and Marie Bouzkova in order to advance to the next round in the Eastbourne International.
Serena who is slated to make her comeback at the Wimbledon next week apparently had a lot of fun even though she barely survived the match. Serena displayed a bit of rustiness in the match but got into match rhythm as the match progressed.
She claimed that her opponents played very well and after the first set they just decided to stay there. Serena was getting to her best slowly and her iconic and powerful serve was seen in play after a year which surely would have elated her fans.
The main talking point of the match was surely the drop shot by Ons Jabeur which not only amazed the audience but also Serena Williams herself.

She was surely nervous to perform alongside Serena which was evident from the errors that she made in the earlier stages of the match.
The opponents of Serena and Ons were surely not intimidated since they were bested in the earlier stages of the match. Serena also was seen to be slowly getting up to speed with her rhythm after a year of inactivity.
Serena also tumbled once on her court but quickly made it back to her feet.
