Rafael Nadal bruised himself and was left bloodied after he suffered from a weird accident during his match against Fabio Fognini. Even though he was left bloodied, he was unbeaten in the four-set win against Fabio. Nadal is currently pursuing a record 23rd Grand Slam title and the US Open is his last chance in 2022 to do so.
During the course of the match, Nadal was in a comfortable position to exhort a win when he extended his arm for a wide backhand. Because of this his tennis racquet rebounded from the court and hit his nose.

This immediately led to him drawing blood and made him sit on his chair in order to lie down. On this he further stated,
“It was just a strong hit. At the beginning I thought I [broke] the nose because it was a shock at the beginning. Was very painful. I lost little bit the… feeling of my head. It’s about being a little bit out of the world,”
“I don’t know, seems like it’s not [broken]. I am not sure yet. I don’t know. I think it’s getting bigger and bigger.
After the accident, his physio applied tape on his face and he was all set to go.
Who will Rafael Nadal play next?
