WWE Hall of Famers Nikki Bella and Brie Bella officially announced their departure from the WWE on Tuesday. They also confirmed that they will no longer be going by the name “Bella twins” and will be known as the “Garcia Twins” moving forward. The duo also removed their WWE names from their social media accounts.

Talking to People, Nikki Bella confirmed that their WWE contract is set to expire and they won’t be renewing it. She also said that they knew that it was time for them to head into a new chapter in their lives. Brie Bella revealed that she’s excited to close the Bella chapter in her life.
“When our contract came up with WWE, mutually we all knew that we just needed to head into this new chapter,” Nikki said. “I’m so excited to close that chapter on Brie Bella, keep that book to the side and open up a new one, and see what Brie Garcia is gonna do next,” said Brie.
Both Nikki and Brie were able to achieve incredible success in the WWE’s women’s division. Nikki won the WWE Divas Championship twice in her career while Brie won it once. Both stars were inductees in the WWE Hall of Fame in 2020 for their contribution to women’s wrestling. They were able to achieve success outside the WWE as well. The Bellas reportedly have a combined net worth of 20 million thanks to their TV show appearances and business ventures.
Bella Twins were unhappy with WWE’s treatment of women superstars
Nikki and Brie made headlines after the 30th-anniversary episode of Raw earlier this year. The twins who were first announced to appear on Raw XXX were later pulled from the show.

The duo, following the monumental episode of Raw decided to go on a rant on the company’s booking of the women’s division. During an Instagram live, The Bella twins criticized the company for not mentioning the name of former WWE stars like Sasha Banks and Paige who contributed massively to women’s wrestling in the past.

“How do they showcase anything from the women’s evolution? Because Sasha Banks is in it, and they’re like ‘we can’t.’” Nikki Bella said. “And the Bellas. There’s a bunch of us, and a couple of other girls and Saraya (Paige), there’s a bunch of us they don’t want to show.” said Brie Bella.
It’ll be interesting to see what direction the twins take in their careers following their WWE exit. Some fans even feel that the duo will sign with the WWE’s rival promotion AEW.
