In what was one of the most brutal and exciting fights in the UFC, #2 ranked Justin Gaethje and #5 ranked Michael Chandler put on a performance of a lifetime to kick-off UFC 268 inside Madison Square Garden. After everything was said and done, it was Justin Gaethje who won the fight via unanimous decision. Needless to say, Michael Chandler earned the respect of fight fans around the world, as he showed a rock-solid, and displayed his humongous power in what was a three-round of bloodshed from both the fighter.
Former light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones took to Twitter to share his excitement about the fight, and all the MMA fans will agree. After a three-round war between Gaethje and Chandler, Jon Jones expressed his desire to watch both of them compete once again, albeit, in a five-round fight.

Jon Jones wasn’t the only one who was excited about the fight, as several UFC fighters took to Twitter to congratulate both the fighters. Celebrity Chris Pratt also took to Twitter to share his excitement at UFC 268.
Justin Gaethje to fight for the UFC lightweight championship next?
It’s hard not to agree with Jon Jones. Despite the loss, Chandler gave a tough fight to Justin Gaethje, and at various moments, had the Highlight in trouble. It won’t be wrong to say that Chandler and Gaethje will meet each other inside the Octagon somewhere down the line once again.
Gaethje has expressed his interest in a title fight next, with an impressive win over Michael Chandler at UFC 268. Gaethje had earlier expressed his desire to fight for the championship belt, criticizing the UFC for booking Charles Oliveira vs Michael Chandler. Gaethje is currently ranked #2 in the UFC’s lightweight rankings, with Dustin Poirier set to fight Charles Oliveira next month at UFC 269.
A lot would depend on the outcome of Charles Oliveira vs Dustin Poirier who will share the UFC Octagon at UFC 269 in December. Gaethje had already met Dustin Poirier inside the Octagon, losing to him via stoppage. Gaethje has expressed his interest in a rematch with Poirier on several occasions. Be that as it may, a fight against the BJJ wizard Charles Oliveira is equally exciting.
