Kurt Angle is one of the greatest wrestlers of all time. As his catchphrase goes, the man has won an Olympic Gold Medal with a broken freakin’ neck. Angle is also a Hall of Famer in WWE. During his talk show titled, the ‘Kurt Angle Show‘, he revealed that he was contacted by WWE to get work with them again. The Hall of Famer, also mentioned that he accepted to work with them and is excited to do so. Now it begs the question, “what will Angle’s role be within the company?”
“They (WWE) want me to be involved in the show for the next month or so.
I’m really excited about it, so we’ll see what’s in store for me,”

Roles for Kurt Angle ahead of his potential WWE return
The last time we saw Kurt Angle in WWE, was when he wrestled Baron Corbin at WrestleMania 35. It was his retirement match. Once the match came to an end, the fans were not happy with his match. Angle himself had opened up during an interview about being disappointed over his final WWE match. In an interview in 2021, Angle said that he is rethinking his retirement and would prefer fighting John Cena in his final match.
With that being said, there are a few roles that Angle could play in WWE. Let’s take a look at the possibilities.
Kurt Angle takes creative control
If Angle is returning to WWE and is supposedly going to remain retired then his roles are going to be limited. If Angle wants to work with WWE and have some control over his role, then the best choice for him would be taking over the head of creative. Currently, Bruce Prichard is in control of the creative in NXT and reportedly the Main roster. Given that Angle has been a professional wrestler for over 2 decades, he would be a great fit for the said position.
The New General Manager
Before returning as a competitor, Angle has been the General Manager of Monday Night Raw. Angle did do a fairly decent job as the Raw GM as well. Currently, it looks like Sonya Deville might be returning as a full-time competitor and so Angle could make a return to managing SmackDown and Adam Pearce can return to managing Raw.
Angle comes out of retirement
It is a well-known fact that Angle is an amazing wrestler and as mentioned earlier, the Olympian is unhappy with his retirement. So, Angle could make an in-ring return to face the younger upcoming talent and could be the one to push them to success. He could also join any faction such as the ‘Alpha Academy‘ and elevate them.
These are the potential roles for Kurt Angle. Out of these the most plausible one to me is the General Manager role.
How would you like Angle to return? Let us know.
